CHAPTER 28

When you had woken up in the morning, you went through your normal routine of getting ready for school. Your routine only included eating breakfast and heading out but before you opened the door to your house to leave, you found a red card which had been posted through the letterbox.

You didn't have time to read what was on the card until it was lunch time.

You stared down at the red invitation card with Olly's name printed on the top, not surprised that you were invited by Eugene to join the summit meeting.

You both left an impact on each other during your first meeting.

"You received one too." Vasco was seated across from you, his eyes trained on your expression as his words came out more of a statement and you nodded while also observing him.

Vasco had changed drastically since the last time you spoke to one another.

He wanted to become stronger and the only way he could do so was to become a bad guy himself by using forbidden techniques against his enemies.

"Yeah...I don't understand why I would be invited too." You feigned a look of confusion, knowing you couldn't reveal the fact that you had already met Eugene who was the sole reason you were invited in the first place.

"Should we go?" You asked as you watched Vasco pick up his invitation card and observe it.

"We'll head over when the sun sets." Vasco finalised and you nodded in agreement.

"Count us in."

You turned your head to look back, seeing Zack with Daniel who also held an invitation card. You smiled in their direction before standing up and doing a little pose.

"Let's go kick ass."

Your friends chuckled over your words while you grinned, happy to see them loosen up before your focus went back onto the card.

'My mission at the summit is to make Eugene feel threatened.'

"Oh crap."

You came to the summit meeting too early, the promise you made with your friends to meet up at the location going out the window when you got a text telling you they were running late.

You peeked inside the window to see Hostel, Big Deal and God Dog were present with Workers hiding in the shadows.

There were no words exchanged between the groups but even you could feel the tension that had risen from your spot outside.

"Hi everyone!"

You had decided to enter on your own while holding up your invitation card as you thought,

'Fuck it, I'm going in.'

But, you were given no response and your smile turned awkward, your hand which you raised to greet with, slowly moving back to your side.

Everyone was too tense to greet you back and you sighed as you walked over to Johan and took a seat next to him, sending him a small smile at the same time he glanced at you.

"Who was it? Who called Jake in Olly's name? If it was a prank, we'll take our leave-"

As Jerry was speaking to Chuck, your eyes followed Mandeok who had silently approached Jerry from behind, the shorter of the two not noticing his presence until the last minute.

"Whoa, he's huge."

Jerry faced Mandeok and tilted his head back to look up in shock.

"Who are you?" Jerry asked the other who's face remained blank.
