CHAPTER 46

When Eugene had regained consciousness, he found himself to be tied up and lying in the back of a car.

His first thought was you and whether you had been taken away from him but to his shock, you were besides him, knocked out and tied up also. He saw a trail of dry blood on the side of your face, telling him that you had fought with Johan.

'She didn't leave me.'

He wanted to reach out to you and hold you close to him as a way of thanking you but right now, he had to act as if was still unconscious.

He had to find out who betrayed him.

The thought of Samuel standing in front of the villa made him think if it really was him but he crossed the thought out.

It couldn't be.

Samuel wouldn't betray him.

'I'll have to wait and see...' There was a bitter feeling in his chest but he ignored it as he closed his eyes once again, turning his head slightly so he could hide his face in the seat.

The car came to a sudden halt and Eugene used whatever strength he had to prevent himself from falling off the seat.

"Not now." Johan muttered in frustration as he turned off the ignition and pulled himself out of the car, facing Manager Kim with a look of irritation.

As soon as Johan was out, Eugene opened his eyes and checked if it was fine to move before he turned to you.

"[F/N]." He called softly and you stirred in your sleep, slowly opening your eyes and looking around in a daze.

It took you a moment to see Eugene's condition and you brought your tied hands towards him, cupping his face.

"Are you okay?" You asked, your tone laced with worry.

Eugene felt his heart ram against his chest as you gazed at him with affection.

"I'm fine. What happened after I was down?"

You gazed out the front window at Johan who was in the midst of a fight, a frown painting your lips as you spoke up.

"He was planning to take us away so I fought with him but it didn't end up well, as you can see." You told as you raised your tied hands up.

A taxi suddenly came racing through the open road, almost hitting into Manager Kim but he dodged it with ease, sending his body over the bridge and into the water.

"Samuel?" You called out in shock as he came out of the car, turning to Eugene who had lost all the emotions in his face.

He laid back down in the position he was before he woke up and closed his eyes, feeling your wondering stare.

"I just need to confirm something." He said.

You remained quiet and leaned back in your seat, watching as Johan approached your side of the car and opened up the door. You both made eye contact before he looked back to Samuel.

"She's awake." He announced.

Johan moved to give Samuel room as he crouched down and smiled in your direction.

"Nice to see your awake."

He then settled his eyes onto Eugene, his smirk widening.

"He's still out. We need to bring him to Chairman Choi in the next ten minutes otherwise it'll be too late." He informed, reaching out but you moved your body, preventing him from touching Eugene.
