'I haven't felt this much peace in a long time.'

The next morning had come by, and you had slowly woken up after having a very nice sleep. The silence that surrounded you had you feeling content, and you let out a satisfied sigh, stretching your arms.

“This feels nice.” You mumbled, turning onto your right side and cuddling up to the blanket.

A knock on the door had your attention moving onto it, and you called out to Jay, knowing he was standing behind the door. It opened and Jay peeked inside to check on you before a smile painted his lips.

“You made breakfast?” You asked as you got out of bed, and he sent you a nod.

“Alright. I'm going to wash up first.”

Once you were done in the bathroom, you went over to the dining room and sat by the table, taking in the sight of a delicious breakfast prepared and ready to eat.

“Did you make this yourself?” You asked, feeling a sense of awe and when he nodded, you couldn't help but compliment, which made him blush.

You picked up your utensil, ready to take the first bite, when your phone rang. Furthermore, you pulled it out, your eyebrows raising with surprise as you saw it was Jake.

“Hello?” You called.

“Hi, [F/N]…"

Jake seemed to be bothered by something based on the sound of his voice, and it concerned you for a moment.

“Are you alright? What's wrong?”

----------------------------------------------------------

Jake ended the phone call with you, looking down at the device for a second before a sigh left his lips.

“Did you tell her?” Lineman was seated at the other end of the room as he asked.

“No…I couldn't tell.”

He gazed out of the window of the motel room Lineman had booked for them to hide away in as he thought of Samuel and Johan.

“It's all my fault they were captured, so I'm going to carry this burden on myself.” Jake told Lineman, but he was quick to protest.

“But, Jake! [F/N] could help us-”

“I'm not telling her. She deserves a break from all the shit she's been through with Workers. I know she won't sit still after finding out.” Jake said in a firm tone, and Lineman went quiet, giving his boss a nod as he had no choice but to comply.

When Jake had been on the call with you, he expected to have the courage to speak the truth about Samuel and Johan, but as soon as he heard your voice, which held a tone of happiness and content, he lost all of it, obeying to his heart.

“I'm going to rescue them myself.”

“It's been so long since I last talked to [F/N].”

A dramatic sigh left Goo's lips as he rested on top of a sun chair, his hands entwined and placed behind his head to help him relax under the sun.

“She doesn't even text. Has she forgotten me?”

He didn't receive an answer and lowered his glasses to look over at the man besides him, raising a brow.

“N-No…she probably hasn't.” He stuttered, lowering his eyes to the ground as he placed his hands together in front of him.
