CHAPTER 40

The car came to a stop and your eyes settled onto the scene that was occurring outside.

"You ready?" Manager Kim asked and you turned your attention onto him, seeing how he was staring down at a photo of him and Warren together.

"Are you ready?" You threw the question back at him causing him to share a look with you.

"No." He was honest and it made you smile in a sad manner.

"Me neither."

You took a deep breath, moving your hand to grab onto the handle of the door before pulling it. You stepped out, your back still facing the members of hostel and it wasn't until you slammed the door shut that you earned their attention.

"[F/N]?"

Warren recognised you immediately and you closed your eyes, a part of you hesitating to turn and face them as you felt a flurry of emotions.

You refused to speak as you turned to finally acknowledge them, knowing you would break down if you did.

You removed your black blazer and opened up the first two buttons of your shirt, rolling up your sleeves also as you prepared to fight.

Warren was intending to speak once more but his breath hitched as Manager Kim stepped out, facing him with a heavy look in his eyes.

"Do not speak to me familiarly. I've left all my emotions behind and the past."

Warren felt betrayal hit him but what pained him more was when he realised you were also his enemy.

You could feel Eli's stare and glanced over to him, only to regret as you saw the mix of emotion illuminating in his eyes.

Disbelief, sadness but mainly anger.

'Hold it in.' You could feel your eyes beginning to burn, the urge to break down striking you several times.

If only you could tell Eli your situation.

'Eugene is fucked in the head for putting a listening device in one of the bracelets.'

It was something you had discovered a while back in the car.

On the right bracelet, you saw a tiny red light blinking and you stilled for a moment, holding your breath as you came to a realisation.

At first you couldn't believe it until you brought the bracelet to your lips and whispered Eugene's name, low enough for Manager Kim to not hear.

Your phone buzzed and you pulled it out to see you received a text from the boy himself.

'A little gift so you don't do anything behind my back.'

With Warren having his fight against Manager Kim, you used this opportunity to approach Eli who watched you calmly.

"You have to come with me." You told, your tone dead as it held no emotion.

You reached your hand forward to grasp onto him but it was slapped away by another. You glanced to your right and saw Sally who stared at you with angry tears in her eyes.

"How could you?"

You didn't respond and instead aimed a fist in her direction which Eli caught with ease, a green glint reflecting in his eyes as he felt immense anger for your actions. Sally was forced to moved back as you both engaged in a battle.

You caught his hands which was aimed to grab you and forced him to stay in place, your expression hardening.

"Why did you join Workers?" Eli asked as he glared down at you while you remained quiet, glaring back up at him.
