Summary: Spencer doesn't quite understand the meaning of what he says to the team one day.

"I didn't really get the third prompt," you murmured, tapping your pen to your bottom lip. "You?"

"Well—"

"I shouldn't really bother asking, should I?" You raised an eyebrow.

Spencer smiled sheepishly, shaking his head. "I can help you though."

"That would be nice..."

The boy moved his chair over, sitting closer to you. "The thing about Camus is that he has this notion that the world would be better off without a sort of spiritual deity because we should embrace having no true meaning on the earth."

"He sounds like he'd be great at parties," you retorted.

Spencer shrugged. "I wouldn't know."

"Oh c'mon, you've never been to a party?"

Spencer shook his head.

"Spencer, haven't you been in college since you were like 15?"

"13," he coughed. "Doesn't matter. I've been too busy."

"I mean, Georgetown isn't known for its ragers, but we've had some. I refuse to believe you didn't go to any at Cal Tech either!"

"None."

You leaned back in your seat, smirking.

"I don't like that look."

"I'll be outside of your place at 8 on Friday. Unless I see a news report about some psychopath, I expect you to be there."

"No, Y/N—"

"La la la! See you then!" You jumped up, skipping out of the library.

"Tell your girlfriend to be quiet," the boy at the table next to Spencer snapped.

Spencer rolled his eyes. "She's not my girlfriend."

"I don't care who she is, tell her to can it."

His fist clenched. "Sorry." Spencer figured it was best he left before flashing the FBI badge in some weird way to intimidate this scrawny 19 year old.

"A college party? Seriously, Reid?" Derek looked stunned.

"I mean, the kid's 24," Emily said. "I was at college parties until at least 28."

"Yeah, right."

She winked, walking back to her desk.

"Weird woman," Derek murmured, looking back at Spencer. "So how exactly are you getting in..?"

"Oh, a friend of mine, Y/N."

"Woah, woah. A lady friend?" Derek grinned.

Spencer rolled his eyes. "It's not like that, we aren't together."

Derek narrowed his eyes on the boy. "You sure?"

"I think I'd know."

"What? So it's a friends with benefits thing?"

Friends with benefits? I guess he helped her with studying, and she got him involved socially. That's a benefit!

"Yeah, I guess so." Spencer nodded.

Derek's jaw dropped, and Emily high fived him. "You go, Reid!"

"Uh thanks?"

"Damn, nice work, kid." Derek gave him a thumbs up.
