Prologue:
Beginning of the story.

The world is a tainted mirage. An ocean of illusions, fakeness.

A graveyard to be precise where every day the moon and sun watches the break of glory from the eyes of the people it gave a shelter to.

Not to forget the bed of roses, the petals hiding the thrones, and naming itself as Life.

Such were the principles that guided Reyansh. Long ago, he had reconciled with this harsh reality, when he lost his innocent self.

Reyansh, the beginner of this tale, possessed eyes that delved into darkness, a heart consumed by wilderness, and a visage that revealed how cruel can be beauty. These traits painted him as a concealed enigma, a monstrous figure in disguise.

"Is this the correct location?" Reyansh cousin brother Vedant whispered, sweat glistening his face.

"The technology says so. The traitor is hidden somewhere in the crowd." Vedansh, another brother, leaned forward to glance at the laptop screen and then at the line of people entering the temple.

"He is here. A coward person will always hide among crowd." Reyansh doesn't have to look in the laptop to guess where his prey was. Securing his gun in his waistband, he exited the car and followed the stream of devotees heading into the ancient temple.

He doesn't have to pull the people to get them out of his way, they itself made him his way. His aura commanded such respect, yet it remained enigmatic to most.

His sharp eyes scanned the crowded temple. The life-sized idol of Ganesh gazed upon its worshippers, and the rhythmic beats of drums resonated with the chanting of His name in the midst of the chaotic human hearts. Vermilion powder filled the air, coating Reyansh like the rest of the devotees.

However, his intended target, the reason he had come here in the first place, proved puzzling. Instead, his attention was captivated by something unexpected. It was a rare occurrence for his hard eyes to be drawn to someone.

Someone. Just like Reyansh tormented soul, her mind was distraught. Her lips only chanted the deities name. Her heart only whispered one wish.

"Bring a new sunrise in my life. Enough of those stormy nights, I've soaked enough in them. Let my heart find warmth."

The god listened. So did the beginner of this tale.

Reyansh observed her, and within his cold, lifeless heart, a faint glimmer of warmth stirred.
