Amaris Laurier Pov: -
" Amaris, are you there? Open the door! "His tone was commanding, and I could feel his words reverberating throughout the room. In that moment, I froze, my mind racing with thoughts of potential consequences.
My heartbeat thumped against my chest as I heard Samuel's voice. I could hear his anticipation in his tone and that put me on edge, knowing that he would be entering the room any moment now. I woke up from my trance as I heard the sound of knocking on the door. Sweat started to form on my face as I turned around and met with the sight of an unbothered Dante. He stood there stubbornly, as he had come here to take me away from here.
I started to push Dante towards the balcony as I put a spell on his demonic wings. The spell would make him go away from here and the wings would stop fluttering in the air when he reached the palace, or someone cut his wings.
" Dante, remember what I said to you! " I panted, feeling the tension and frustration building up inside of me.
" Take care of Angelina, I will escape from here real quick, " I tried to reassure him while pushing him, but he growled out as he turned towards me.
" And what if you don't? " He said, gritting his teeth. I was about to respond but stopped when I saw the fire in his eyes. The groans were about to come out from his head as I know he is getting frustrated.
" Don't say this just as an Amaris, fucking say it as our Amaris, our Alpha, and as our Queen, while keeping us, demons, in your fucking mind! " Dante yelled out as his wings started to flap slowly before picking up the pace. Dante tried to stop his wings, but they slowed but didn't stop.
I tried to divert the topic, but he gripped my arm and shook me while bringing him closer towards him.
" Fucking tell me, my Queen! " He shouted as the banging sound came from behind and my demonic form let out a growl before I could say something as she said out.
" In 3 days, I will come back with our people, and if I am not there on the 4th day in our palace, then take me away with you. It doesn't matter if Amaris tries to stop us, chain us if you want, on the 4th day I want us to be in the palace. Do whatever it takes to take us back. " Bella, my demon form, said in her authoritative voice as he instantly relaxed.
Just as a queen, and satisfied by the answer, Dante pulled away from me and didn't stop his wings, which soon started to fly in the air. But before he flew far away, Dante turned around and his black smoky eyes met mine.
As Dante's words echoed in my mind, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The way he spoke made it seem like I was a possession to be claimed by the demonic world. I tried to shake off the feeling as I made my way to the bathroom, needing to freshen up before facing Samuel.
I grabbed a towel from the bed and wiped my face clean before throwing it back on the bed. As I walked towards the door, I couldn't help but feel a little anxious. I knew Samuel was waiting for me on the other side, and I could sense his frustration through our bond.
I took a deep breath before opening the door to find Samuel standing there, ready to change into his wolf form and bang the door down. He looked at me with a raised eyebrow before I forced a smile at him, trying to hide my anxiety.
He came towards me and enveloped me in his arms, holding me tightly as he buried his head in the crook of my neck. I could feel him sniffing my scent before he growled out, making my skin tingle.
" Why do I smell a man's scent on you? "
