I lay next to Amaris, pressing my nose into her neck, inhaling deeply. Her scent was intoxicating, and it filled me with a sense of contentment and desire. I could feel my beast and wolf purring with satisfaction as our scent grew stronger on her.
" When will mate wake up? " Blake, my wolf, whined in my head, his impatience palpable.
" She will wake up soon. I can feel her emotions running through my mind, " Zane, my beast, cooed, his voice smug with his ability to sense her before Blake.
Their incessant chatter was getting on my nerves. I pushed back against their attempts to take control of our body and snuggled closer to Amaris. I knew they were excited, but they needed to learn some self-control.
" Why can't I feel it? " Blake asked, his voice tinged with envy.
" It's almost faint. As a wolf, you can't sense it like I can, " Zane said, his tone dripping with superiority.
" Release the wall, " I ordered, and Zane complied, allowing me to sink deeper into Amaris's warmth.
Suddenly, a loud, persistent knocking on my door interrupted the moment I was sharing with my mate. Feeling irritated, I started to get up, but then I noticed my mate whimpering softly. Zane and Blake, sensing her distress, growled protectively and tried to comfort her by taking control of our body. Without hesitation, I rushed to her side and held her close, pulling her into my embrace.
I cradled her head against my bare chest and caressed her hair gently, trying to soothe her. The banging on the door continued, growing louder and more insistent. Concerned for my mate's comfort, I held her more tightly, shielding her body with mine and throwing a blanket over her for added warmth. My instincts kicked in, and I knew I had to protect her from any possible danger.
" Enter, " I growled, my voice low and menacing, as the witches came into view.
" Good morning, Alpha, " they greeted me deferentially, keeping their eyes downcast.
" Alpha, we are here to depart, " the young witch began,
"And as for Luna, her human side and spirits are marked completely by your mark. And when she wakes up, her spirits will try to take control of her body to be with you. So be prepared for that! " I felt Zane's presence in the room, and the young witch's teasing remark earned her a low growl from him.
" We will take our leave now Alpha! " The witch said before closing the door behind her.
" I am waiting for you mate! " I thought before cuddling her closer towards me.
