A New Flame (Sanemi x Deaf Reader)

Chapter 66

-Sanemi's POV-
I was staring at the ground in disbelief. I didn't even take into account where I was. I didn't care… I'm stuck in my own self-loathing in my own thoughts. 'I couldn't… protect Oyakata-sama…' A demon on my left started to come after me. I didn't even get off the floor as I killed it with one swing. Shocking the other demons that were covering the walls.

"They just keep coming one after another… Okay ass wipes… Come and get me." I said tauntingly as I held my hand to my face as tears started rolling down. I had a twisted smile as I said, "I'll slaughter  you all."

-Akaza's POV-
The attack started as many demon slayers were pulled into the infinity fortress. I was just running around smiling as I was looking for a hashira.. Someone strong that can deal with my blows. But what I found didn't register as I was in disbelief. I couldn't move.

I turned around to see you three-toned hair female. Black fighting in the yellow before going into red. How she stands, how she grips into her blade, most importantly, how she glared at me. It reminds me all about him. "Rengoku Kyojuro!" She's so strong-willed but I will never fight a woman. As I wanted to turn away she started crying, taking me back a little bit.

If she wasn't a demon slayer I would have consulted with her and talked it out with her but we were enemies… I can't. I've started running away from her so as to not instigate a fight, as I didn't want to hurt her. "Just who are you? You're quite fast. You're starting to  peek my interest." I said trying to start a conversation so I can try to distract her.

Before that I felt one strong presence. I raise my fist up in the air before striking toward the floor. I suddenly burst through the floors as I started to get closer to the presence of determination and completely forgetting about the female demon slayer behind me. 'She won't follow me down here..' I thought before slightly turning up to see. To my surprise she did. 'What the hell is wrong with her? She's going to get hurt from this height! Tch!'

I looked back towards the floors I was breaking before I started to think a little bit. 'She reminds me of someone, not that flame pillar that I fought a few months ago.. Someone I can't remember….'

-Tanjiro's POV-
I was following Tomioka, slightly easing up a little bit just for me to get slammed through the floor. Last second I come to the edge, jumping back up. "Don't ease up!!" Tomioka yelled at me as I was at the encounter. 'It's like the building is alive with an unruly pulse.' I thought to myself looking ahead as Tomioka picked up the speed.

'It's trying to separate Giyuu-san and me. We have to head to Muzan with as many other hunters as we can.' I thought before we heard the flapping of wings of a crow overhead. "CAW! DEAD KOCHO SHINOBU IS DEAD!! SHE DIED AFTER THE CONFRONTATION WITH UPPER MOON TWO!!"

Giyuu and I were shocked as we both got memories of Shinobu smiling with the butterfly girls. Just the thought of this made me start to tear up.

-3rd Person POV-
As Tomioka was running ahead of Tanjiro. He slightly looked over to the crow, noticing that something was below its neck. 'The crow.. has a weird paper below its neck. What is it?' Tomioka thought, wondering upon his thoughts before thinking again, 'It's unusually fast at delivering messages as well…'

'We're not running into any other moons. Are we still that far from Muzan!? Are the others still okay?!' Tanjiro's thoughts ran wild as he was focusing too much on all of the options that could happen. 'Shinobu-san! We will win for sure. I'm sure everyone.. we will!!'

Suddenly the sound of something breaking caught the two demon slayers' attention. They were on high alert, especially the hashira. "What is this tremor!!" He said holding on to his blade's handle. Tanjiro followed in suit as he also held his blade handle. "G-giyuu-san! Stop! Calm down." Tanjiro tried the reason as he tried to calm the other's nerves.

'Is someone still fighting!? Did someone die again!!' He thought, taking a deep breath in sniffing out his surroundings. 'No, that's not it. It's coming closer?' Tanjiro questioned himself before getting what it was. 'This smell…' "From above!!" I yelled as Giyuu told the younger slayers to stay back.

The demon before then landed right in front of the younger slayer simply starting up a conversation. "It sure has been a while. I'm surprised you're alive, being the weakling that you are." The demon said cockley before launching forward dodging the attack from above. 'Damn.' (Y/n) thought, recollecting a sword from the ground. "Kamado Tanjiro!!"

"Akaza!!" Tanjiro screamed before launching an attack between the front flip slicing off the upper moon's arm. 'Dance Of The Fire God: Fire Chariot!!' He landed his flip before quickly turning around looking toward the demon. 'I got him!! And I dodged his attack, this will work! I can fight!! I couldn't aim for his head! But next time!'

There wasn't even enough time to blink as the upper moon three came at blinding speeds towards the redhead, fists ready to pack a major punch. 'I gotta dodge!' He thought, using another one of his breathing techniques. 'Dance Of The Fire God: Parhelion Rainbow.' As Akaza swung through his attack he noticed that the slayer had just disappeared as he was behind him within a second, but this time he wasn't alone as the female slayer was also with him attacking from the front.

He caught the female's blade before just taking the hit from the younger slayer and amused as he healed quickly from the attack.
