The night after Charity had been knocked out Allie went to see her. Flambo had left half an hour ago, it was his third visit to the tiny hospital that day. Allie slowly walked into Charity's closet-like hospital room and sat on the bed.
She had barely touched the bed sheets when the monitor above her head started beeping.
Oh great, she thought. What have I broken now?
Sunny burst into the room.
"What happened? Where is it?" She exclaimed.
"Huh?"
She shoved Allie out of the way.
"She's awake!"
"WHAT?!?!?"
"MOVE!" She reached past Allie and flicked some switches on the monitor.
Then Sunny began to slow down and everything was in slow motion. Allie had hit the wall...hard. Everything became a blur, words started to sound like blabbing...someone...screamed...Allie's brain slowed down...and her fingertips sparkled for a moment.
Must...be a...hallucination..., thought Allie as the world turned black.
