It was a normal Sunday when you were bored at home. You were just chilling on your phone in your room when you heard your brother, Jake (Paul) call your name from downstairs.

"Shelby?!"

"Coming!!"

You run down and lean on the kitchen counter, flicking him on the back of his neck which made him aware of your presence. It also earned a laugh from his lips.

"I'm gonna go to the store. You want anything?" He asks.

"Nah I'm good. When will you be back?"

"An hour and a half probably. Call me if you change your mind." He waves goodbye to you and heads out the door.

"See ya." Once he's completely gone, you take out your phone and call your boyfriend, Ethan. Yes, jakes friend. But you've been secretly dating him since you knew jake would be pissed off with the both of you.

"Hello?" Ethan answers in a raspy voice.

"Hey babe, come over. We have an hour and a half till jake gets home."

"Okay baby, see you in a couple minutes." He hangs up and you make yourself something to eat while you wait.

After ten minutes, you hear a knock at the door. You open it to reveal Ethan, in a beanie and sweats.

He kissed your lips and you both sat on the couch.

Just as you were laughing about something you saw on Instagram, the front door slammed shut.

"Shelby! I'm home! I got you food! Who's the nicest brother ever?! This guy!" He exclaimed.

You and Ethan sent eachother panicked looks and tried hiding him. But then... Jake walked in.

"Ethan? What're you doing here?" He pulled Ethan into a bro hug.

"uh.." Ethan suddenly couldn't speak. He looked at you pleading for help.

You took a deep breath and finally spat out the words.

"Ethan and I are dating." You say holding Ethan's hand tightly.

"What?!" Jakes eyes widen in shock.

"How long for?" He calms down a bit.

"Two months." Ethan mumbled.

Jake sighs scratching the back of his neck. You knew he was thinking.

"Jake, I'm in love with your sister! She's beautiful and funny and kind and god, she takes my breath away every time I see her.  I could think of millions of ways to describe her but 'liking' her isn't a thing. I love her." Ethan yells out.

Jake looks at Ethan a little taken back. Ethan smiles at you, squeezing your hand slightly.

"Look. I'm sorry for being so harsh on you. But why didn't you just tell me?" Jake pulled you into a hug.

"I was scared that you wouldn't let me since he's your best friend and all." You muttered into his chest.

"Well Ethan really loves you huh? I say go for it." He tells you stroking your hair.

You run into Ethan's arms and kiss him.

"gross, I'm gonna have to get used to that though.." Jake laughs, walking out of the room, sending a cheeky wink at Ethan.
