Vanessa's POV:

Jeff and I walk to a bar with an open microphone and two stools. A guy finished a song for his wife. I take the stage to sing a song for Dusty.
You walked with me
Footprints in the sand
And helped me understand
Where I'm going
You walked with me
When I was all alone
With so much unknown
Along the way
Then I heard you say
I promise you
I'm always there
When your heart is filled with sorrow and despair
I'll carry you
When you need a friend
You'll find my footprints in the sand
Jeff gets up on the stage and looks at me and he sings.
I see my life
Flash across the sky
So many times have I been so afraid
And just when I
I thought I'd lost my way
You gave me strength to carry on
That's when I heard you say
I promise you
I'm always there
When your heart is filled with sorrow and despair
And I'll carry you
When you need a friend
You'll find my footprints in the sand
We sing the bridge

When we're weary
Well we know you'll be there
And we can feel you
When you say
I promise you
Oh, I'm always there
When your heart is filled with sadness and despair
We'll carry you
When you need a friend
You'll find my footprints in the sand
When your heart is full of sadness and despair
We'll carry you
When you need a friend
You'll find my footprints in the sand

After the song, tears start to stream down my face. Jeff hugs me and he asks for the stage to sing me a song.

As long as you love me
Although loneliness has always been a friend of mine
I'm leavin' my life in your hands
People say I'm crazy and that I am blind
Risking it all in a glance
And how you got me blind is still a mystery
I can't get you out of my head
Don't care what is written in your history
As long as you're here with me
I don't care who you are
Where you're from
What you did
As long as you love me
Who you are
Where you're from
Don't care what you did
As long as you love me
Every little thing that you have said and done
Feels like it's deep within me
Doesn't really matter if you're on the run
It seems like we're meant to be
I don't care who you are
Where you're from
What you did
As long as you love me
Who you are
Where you're from
Don't care what you did
As long as you love me
I've tried to hide it so that no one knows
But I guess it shows
When you look into my eyes
What you did and where you're comin from
I don't care, as long as you love me, baby
I don't care who you are
Where you're from
What you did
As long as you love me
Who you are
Where you're from
Don't care what you did
As long as you love me
Who you are
Where you're from
What you did
As long as you love me
Who you are
Where you're from
As long as you love me
Who you are
As long as you love me
What you did
As long as you love me

Jeff gets off the stage but the crowd wants an encore. I sing a song.

We were both young when I first saw you.

I close my eyes and the flashback starts:
I'm standing there on a balcony in summer air.
See the lights, see the party, the ball gowns.
See you make your way through the crowd
And say, "Hello, "
Little did I know...
That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles,
And my daddy said, "Stay away from Juliet"
And I was crying on the staircase
Begging you, "Please don't go"
And I said...
Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone.
I'll be waiting; all that's left to do is run.
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess,
It's a love story, baby, just say, "Yes".
So I sneak out to the garden to see you.
We keep quiet 'cause we're dead if they knew
So close your eyes... escape this town for a little while.
Oh, oh.
'Cause you were Juliet - You were a scarlet letter,
And your daddy said, "Stay away from Romeo"
But you were everything to me,
I was begging you, "Please don't go"
And I said...
Juliet, take me somewhere we can be alone.
I'll be waiting; all that's left to do is run.
You'll be the princess and I'll be the prince.
It's a love story, baby, just say, "Yes".
Romeo, save me, they're trying to tell me how to feel.
This love is difficult but it's real.
Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess.
It's a love story, baby, just say, "Yes".
Oh, oh.
I got tired of waiting
Wondering if you were ever coming around.
My faith in you was fading
When you met me on the outskirts of town.

And I said...

Romeo, save me, I've been feeling so alone.
I keep waiting for you but you never come.
Is this in my head? I don't know what to think.

I knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said...

Marry me, Juliet, you'll never have to be alone.
I love you, and that's all I really know.
I talked to your dad - go pick out a white dress
It's a love story, baby, just say, "Yes".
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
'Cause we were both young when I first saw you

I look at Jeff and he smiles at me. We get off the stage and we do a victory shot while a girl was singing. After the song everybody that sang got to do one more song.

Jeff and Vanessa:

Someone told us long ago
There's a calm before the storm
We know it's been coming for some time
When it's over so they say
It'll rain on a sunny day
I know shinning down like water
We want to know
Have you ever seen the rain
We want to know
Have you ever seen the rain
Coming down on a sunny day

Justin Joey:

Yesterday and days before
Sun is cold and rain is hard
We know, been that way for all my time
'Til forever, on it goes
Through the circle of fast and slow
We know it can't stop, I wonder
We want to know
Have you ever seen the rain
We want to know
Have you ever seen the rain
Coming down on a sunny day

All:

We want to know
Have you ever seen the rain
We want to know
Have you ever seen the rain
Coming down on a sunny day
