Vanessa's POV:

After the neighborhood barbecue, I get ready for bed. An hour later, i'm wide awake. Crap insomnia has hit me! I leave the guest bed room in a super stealthy mode and I make my way to the recording studio to find Jeff inside the studio I head into booth one and I start singing.

What have I done?
I wish I could run,
Away from this ship going under
Just trying to help
Hurt everyone else
Now I feel the weight of the world is on my shoulders
What can you do when your good isn't good enough
And all that you touch tumbles down?
Cause my best intentions
Keep making a mess of things,
I just wanna fix it somehow
But how many times will it take?
Oh, how many times will it take for me to get it right, to get it right?

Jeff gets into booth two and sings the next verse.
Can I start again, with my faith shaken?
Cause I can't go back and undo this
I just have to stay and face my mistakes,
But if I get stronger and wiser, I'll get through this
What can you do when your good isn't good enough?
And all that you touch tumbles down?
Cause my best intentions keep making a mess of things,
I just wanna fix it somehow
But how many times will it take?
Oh, how many times will it take for me to get it right?
We finish the song.
So we throw up our fists, throw a punch in the air,
And accept the truth that sometimes life isn't fair!

Yeah, We'll send out a wish, yeah, We'll send up a prayer
And finally someone will see how much we care

What can we do when our good isn't good enough?
And all that we touch tumbles down?
Cause our best intentions keep making a mess of things,
We just wanna fix it somehow
But how many times will it take?
Oh, how many times will it take, to get it right?
To get it right?

After the song ends, Jeff exits the booth and the studio. I look at the studio and I lose myself in a song.

[Vanessa:]
Like anyone would be
I am flattered by your fascination with me
Like any hot-blooded woman
I have simply wanted an object to crave
But you, you're not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight
Must be strangely exciting
To watch the stoic squirm
Oh, must be somewhat heartening
To watch shepherd meet shepherd
But you, you're not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight
Like any uncharted territory
We must seem greatly intriguing
And you, you speak of our love like
You have experienced love like mine before
But this is not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight
I don't think you unworthy
I need a moment to deliberate

As I fall asleep, Matt shakes me awake.
