Brielle
Today November and I were stopping by Chresanto's house to see Christy and Keke. Last time since I've seen them, Christy was just a Freshman. Now Keke should be entering the 1st grade and Christy should be entering her Junior year of high school. Wow, time flies by.
"Are you ready to go?" I asked November as I fixed the mirrors in my car.
I left my car here in California since there was really no way for it to get to New York. Plus, it's not likely for someone to be cruising down the streets in a car in New York. Most people either ride the subway or walk to their destination.
"Yeah, I'm ready," she responded. "Do you think Chresanto is going to be there?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't really know. If he is, he is. If he isn't, he isn't. He's not my man anymore so I don't care."
"I know Christopher and yourself are in a relationship, but do you ever think of having a relationship with Chresanto again?"
"Nope," I answered, bluntly. "Chresanto and I were way done back in high school. I'm a grown women now and I don't have time for his games. He has a girlfriend and a child. I wish the best of luck for him."
"Jamie isn't his girlfriend, I think. They're pretty on and off to me because one day he'll be kissing up on her then the next it'll be that she's just the baby mama."
"That's his drama, not mine. Plus, Jamie is still a little girl. She's barely into her junior year or high school and wants to fight with me over a guy. I'm better than that."
"Well that's true. I was just asking."
"I know, boo." I said, turning the radio up a little louder.
I stepped out of the car and fixed my maxi skirt. I waited for November to get on my side before we both walked to Chresanto's doorstep. I rang the doorbell twice before I heard someone running down the stairs to open it.
"Who it it?" I heard Christy say through the door.
"It's Brielle and November! Open up the door girl! It's hot" I yelled.
By time I even took another breath, the door flew open and Christy engulfed me into a bear hug.
"Oh my gosh, I missed you so much!" She said, finally letting me go and engulfing November into a hug.
"I missed you a lot too! How has everything been?"
She rolled her eyes and motioned for us to come upstairs with her. I gave November a look and followed Christy upstairs to her room. I gently closed the door behind me as we all sat across Christy's bed.
"Nothing has been good," Christy said, running her hands through her straight hair. "Jamie is a total bitch I tell you."
I laughed. "You think I didn't know that before?"
She lightly chuckled. "Ever since I found out she was pregnant with little Lani I've been wanting to rip her neck off."
"What happened? You guys were the best of friends!"
"Yeah, that was until I figured out that she used me to get close to my brother!" She exclaimed. "She ain't slick no more!"
"So what happened to you guys? Are you still friends?"
"Hell no we ain't friends! She trapped my brother and only befriended me for him! I'm not trying to say that Lani was a bad thing or anything like that but she knew what she was doing. I can't stand to even look at her! She acts like her and Chresanto are married when in reality he doesn't even want her. I feel bad for him. They only reason why he sleeps in the same bed with her and acts civilized is because of Lani and that's sad."
