November
Please, please pick up. I thought to myself as I called Darshay for the tenth time today.
"What the fuck do you want!?" Darshay hollered through the phone.
I closed my eyes and placed my hand over my chest. "Darshay, please just listen to what I have to say."
"Why the fuck should I, November please tell me why!"
"Darshay I promise I can explain!"
"You can't explain shit, November! You can't explain that my child doesn't have a family now! You can't explain that! I thought you were loyal but I guess not!"
"I'm sorry, Darshay! Please, please just let me explain! I don't want our friendship to end because of this. I barely remember anything I was drunk and I'm still hurt by Daniel-"
"That;s your problem, November. You're to worried about your own problems that you don't even care about your friends anymore. Daniel doesn't want you anymore! Damn, move on already!"
"How can you say that?" I asked. "You know how much I'm hurting from this, Darshay."/
"Please," She scoffed. "He broke up with you months ago. Get over it, if you're still hurting go get some counciling or something. Maybe if you weren't such a bad girlfriend you guys would still be together. Did you think of that?"
"Wow, I can't believe my own friend is saying this to me right now. You know how I feel about this situation."
"Quite frankly, I don't care! Daniel is not the only person in this world! Stop acting like a baby and woman up. You've ruined our friendship and it's never going to be the same. Now because of you, me and Jacob are over! My child won't have a family that he or she deserves to have. Just because you're not happy doesn't mean you have to make the rest of us unhappy."
"So this is it?" I asked, wiping my tears. "I know I messed up but why can't you give me another chance?"
"You don't deserve another chance. Real friends stay loyal no matter what. My gut was always telling me that you weren't trustworty. Shame on myself."
"I was drunk, Darshay!"
"Well go to AA you damn alcoholic!" She screamed.
I hung up the phone and sat in my bed crying my tears out. Why did this have to happen to me? First, I loose my boyfriend now I'm loosing my friends. My life just couldn't get any worse, could it?
I called the only person in my contacts who I thought would be understanding of my situation - Lola.
"Well Hello, November! Long time no talk!" Lola screamed into the phone.
I giggled. "I'm sorry, Lola. Everything has been hectic these past few weeks. How is the baby?"
"Renee is doing perfectly fine! Are you busy at the moment? We're home if you would like to come see her. I would love for you to come and I would like it for her to get to know her aunties! I'm so bored in this house I'm dying for some company."
"I would love to come, Lola. Give me a few minutes, I'll be right over."
"Yay! I'll leave the door open for you. Just walk right in."
I washed my faced and brushed my teeth before I pulled on a pink jogging suit and some brown Uggs. As hot as it was outside, I was dressing like it was cold, shake my head. I grabbed my keys, my purse, and the few toys that I forgot to bring to Lola's baby shower a few weeks back.
