Emily's pov
I was at Spencers with Hanna and Aria, when Spencer came back to the living room with Christmas ornaments. "Let's decorate this shit!" Hanna said standing up and walking over to Spencer as I smiled at them. I'm still bummed about Ali, I mean I haven't stopped thinking about her at all since she identified Cyrus. Maybe I was too harsh. "Em you're not gonna help?" Aria asked as she snapped me out of my thoughts. I saw that they've already hung up a bit of ornaments. "Uh I'm actually gonna go outside for some fresh air, I'll be back though." I said as they all looked at me, "Well suit yourself, but you better hurry, I'm making eggnog." Spencer said as I rolled my eyes but smiled at her, "Wouldn't miss it." I said as I got up and walked outside. I looked next door and my thoughts landed on Ali again. Paige is coming in a few hours but it just doesn't feel right, I can't help but feel like I should be over there with Ali. "No Jason i cant postpone the meeting." I heard Ali's dad say as he came outside with a suitcase and Jason followed, "But dad it's Christmas!" He said as Ken rolled his eyes, "Then go get drunk somewhere like you always do." He said as Jason stopped following him, "You know, I don't give a rats ass if you're here for Christmas, but This is your first Christmas since she's been back." Jason said as his dad turned to look at him, "Don't speak to me that way I am your father! And if I don't go to work, who's gonna pay for everything we have?!" Ken yelled as Jason looked down. "Whatever dad." He said as I walked back inside. I watched Ali's dad put his suitcase in the trunk as Jason came outside again but this time with his car keys. "Oh and where are you going?" Ken asked, "To get drunk like always remember?" Jason said as he got into his car and sped off. "Ungrateful ass kid." Ken mumbled, "Alison I'm leaving!" He yelled from outside as Alison ran out. She had her hair done in a messy bun, Nike shorts, and a pink sweater on. "Okay dad love you." She said as she kissed his cheek and he smiled at her, "Uh here's 200$ merry Christmas sweetheart." He said as He took out his wallet, "Uh no dad, it's fine, uh just come home safe okay?" Ali asked as he looked at her surprised, "Um okay? Uh okay! Well be safe and lock up honey, you got my work and phone number, so if anything call me." He said to her as she nodded, he got into his car and drove off as Ali walked back inside. Wait does that mean Ali's spending Christmas alone? Or with a drunk Jason? Either is terrible. I walked back inside and saw that Paige, Ezra, Toby and Caleb were already here. "Oh hi guys." I said as everyone smiled at me. "Hey Em." My best friend Toby said walking towards me. "Hey Tobs." I said smiling at him as he handed me a beer, "You look like you could use a talk." He said as I sighed, "You don't even know." I said sadly as we walked outside and sat on Spencers porch. "So what's up?" He asked as I sighed and looked down, "What do you do when you love someone but everyone keeps telling you they're not right for you?" I asked as he took a sip of his beer and sighed, "This is about Alison right?" He asked as I looked down, "Uh yeah, yeah it is actually, and I'm kind of sick of pretending like it's not. I mean everyone's just acting like she isn't a big part of our life like she isn't our problem." I said as Toby looked at me, "Emily she's not our problem." He said as I looked up at him, "She's my problem." I said as I felt a tear fall from my face, "That's the problem Toby, no matter how many times people tell me she's no good, I don't care. I know she's no good, but guess what? I love her anyways." I said as he stared at me, "You know what? It's our first Christmas that Ali's back, and instead of celebrating it with her or being thankful she's here, she's alone. Like every other Christmas since her disappearance." I said as Toby sighed, "Emily there's a great girl inside waiting for you." He said talking about Paige as I rolled my eyes. "Yeah you're right, she is a great girl isn't she?" I asked as he nodded, "But she's not my girl." I said as I got up and walked off. "Where are you going??" He yelled out as I turned around and started to walked backwards. "To a great girl that's waiting for me." I said as I winked at him and walked next door. All the courage I had twenty seconds ago disappeared because now my hearts racing and I can't seem to knock on the door. Eventually after 8 minutes of pacing I finally knocked. She opened the door and she looked beautiful, she was wearing the same thing she was wearing when I saw her earlier, but up close its like a better version of heaven. "Uh hi?" She asked furrowing her eyebrows as I smiled, "Hi." I said she looked at me carefully. "Are you here to accuse me of being "A" again?" She asked sounding kind of hurt as I stuck my hands in the pockets of my skinny jeans and shook my head. "No." I said lightly as she opened the door all the way, "Get in here it's freezing." She said as I smiled at her and walked in. "What are you doing here?" She asked as we walked to the living room. I saw she was drinking wine. "Hmm didn't take you as a wine type of person." I said lightly, "I'm not, I'm a vodka person, but this person is willing to settle." She said as I giggled a bit, "So you didn't answer my question, why are you here?" She asked as I sighed, "I wanted to, no, I need to apologize. Ali I've been thinking so much about you, and I know that's not new but like more then usual. And then I felt horrible, I felt horrible because knowing I was mean to you makes me sick to my stomach, and I know that makes me sound weak and it makes me sound sappy, but when I mistreat you it literally makes me wanna throw up." I said nervously as she stared at me in shock, "And not only that I'm so fucking pissed because I'm the only one who seems to realize that this is your first Christmas since you've been back and it's no different since you were alone up until now. And I'm just so sorry, I'm sorry for everything. I'm sorry for hurting you after you fixed things, well semi-fixed things but you know what I mean." I said letting everything out. "And if you think for a minute I'm leaving you alone tonight you're crazy." I added as she continued staring at me. "I wasn't ever gonna ask you to leave." She said quietly as I looked at her. "I was mad at you, I was mad at you and only you because I expected it from everyone else, but you? God I didn't expect you to turn on me too." She started as I interrupted, "Because I'm the loyal one?" I asked as she furrowed her eyebrows, "Because you're my only one." She said as my heart started racing at the fact that she said "you're" instead of "were". "Well I was mad but then I realized I have literally caused you nothing but pain in your life, and when I saw Paige walk into Spencers earlier, all my anger came back and there are no English words to describe how badly I wanted to wipe that smug little smile off her face." Ali said angrily as I chuckled a bit and she took a deep breath, "But, I didn't and I think I'm growing here. But anyways that's a little off topic, when I saw Paige I knew she was there for you. She always has been, then I realized I never was, and i never have been. And as much as I hate her, she's good to you." She said as I looked at her, "You don't have to be here for pity Emily." She added as I looked at her like she had three heads and I stood up. "Pity?? Pity? Ali I am here because I love you! I love you Alison, with all my heart. I'm sorry all I do is seem to hurt you lately but bare with me. I mean come on sometimes loving you isn't easy Ali. It's actually really hard. I mean you are confusing, mysterious, you're like one of those jig saw puzzles with 200 pieces you can never figure out." I said as she got up too and faced me, "I-" She started as I cut her off. "You didn't let me finish." I said as her mouth snapped shut. "Loving you isn't easy, it's by far the hardest thing I've ever done. And sometimes you drive me insane, god do you know how insane you drive me? And yes Paige is right next door, and she's nice and simple, and she's always been there, but Ali don't you understand? No matter how hard this is, no matter how complicated it gets, you are literally the only one I want this with." I said softly, "I Don't want easy and I don't want Paige. I want complicated, I want Paris, I want pretty blonde hair and blue eyes." I said grabbing her chin as she blushed hard. "I want Ali." I said softly as she bit her lip and looked up into my eyes, "So I drive you insane huh?" She asked wiggling her eyebrows as I rolled my eyes and laughed as I pulled her into a hug. "I love you." She said lightly as I didn't let her go. "I love you so much more." I said squeezing her tighter.
