"You're just cruel Alison!" Noel yelled as Ali rolled her eyes, they were fighting about how mean ali was again. "How can someone be so, so, so mean?" Noel spat out staring at the girl, Ali stayed silent rolling her eyes as Noel scoffed. "I'm leaving." He said angrily.

"Noel wait." Ali said as he turned around with hopeful eyes, "Close the door on your way out." Ali said evilly as he scoffed and slammed the door.

Ali had told Noel from the beginning that she wasn't in love with him, that'd she'd probably never be in love with him. He just laughed and said "we'll see." with that smirk of his that every other girl in rosewood high found charming.

Every girl except for Ali of course. She never found any guy charming. Out of every relationship she's been in she's never actually loved any of them, she's never even told them that she's loved them. She just enjoys company that's all.

The next day at school ali was at her locker and of course everyone had already heard that her and the most popular boy at school had broken up. "Hey ali." Hanna said carefully as she walked up to the blonde with Spencer and Aria by her side. "Hey ladies." Ali said grinning, "So we heard you and Noel broke up," Spencer started carefully. "And we just wanted to know if you were okay." Aria said lightly as Ali giggled, "Of course I'm okay, Noel's just some other boy that I dated and stopped dating." Ali said truthfully as the three stared at her.

"Ali when are you ever going to settle down?" Aria asked as Ali shrugged, "Now where's the fun in that?" Ali asked smirking.

"Hey Spencer! Um I just came to return your chemistry notes, thanks again for letting me use them." A beautiful brunette said as she walked up to Spencer and Spencer smiled. Ali had seen the girl once or twice, they had English together with all the other girls. She'd never gotten so close to see that the girl was absolutely stunning.

"Oh no problem Emily." Spencer said smiling as she took a hold of her notebook, "Spencer who's your friend?" Ali asked with a smirk on her lips that the girls new all too well.

"Uh Ali, this is Emily fields, Emily this is Alison Dilaurentis." Spencer said introducing the two.

Ali couldn't help but smirk at the beautiful girl standing right in front of her. "I know, we uh have English together." Emily said shyly as Ali smiled, "You should really think about sitting with us one of these days Emily." Ali said as Emily's face turned a crimson shade of red. "Even better, why don't you sit with us at lunch right now?" Ali asked as Spencer, aria, and Hanna exchanged a look of uncertainty.

"Uh s-sure I mean if that's okay with you all." Emily said looking at the three other girls, "Of course it is, come on, you have to tell me where you got that top." Hanna said interlinking her arm with Emily's as they walked together.

Something made Ali's blood boil when someone else touched the girl, "Blues not your color Hanna." Ali mumbled as they all walked to lunch and sat together.

Emily actually turned out to be the sweetest girl on earth. She didn't have a mean bone in her body. Ali saw her differently than she saw the other girls though, there was something about Emily that drove the blonde over the edge. Something that made her need to have the brunette.

Over the next couple months Ali had stolen little kisses from Emily here and there, there was no doubt that Emily did in fact like Ali. The girls had caught on to what was going on but didn't say anything. They saw the way Ali stared Emily with pure adoration and the way Emily smiled every time she'd hear Alison's name.

"Ali we're supposed to be studying." Emily said staring at the blonde who instead was looking at postcards. The two had gotten detention because they were caught texting each other in class.

Ali had turned her head and smiled a soft smile at Emily. "You planning a trip?" The brunette asked staring at the postcards then back at Ali, "You and me in sweet Pari. How does that sound?" Ali asked with a sweet smiled on her face causing Emily to blush slightly. "Maybe we should learn how to actually speak their language before we go." Emily said teasingly causing Ali to giggle lightly.

"We'll start in the south of France, dancing through sunflower fields." Ali said dreamingly as Emily looked up at the blonde, "Hm, lounging around in our bikini's in the French Rivera." Ali said softly as Emily stared at the blonde with big eyes,

"You'd look so good on top of the Eiffel Tower, wind in your hair." Ali said staring at Emily who stood up and touched the postcard with the Eiffel Tower on it.

Ali grabbed her hand as if she didn't want Emily to see what was written on the back. Emily only looked up the blonde and smiled as Ali stacked the cards neatly, "How long are we going away for?" Emily asked as there was a silence. "How about forever?" Ali asked as Emily blushed a deep shade of red.

Throughout the next couple of months Emily had noticed Ali was different around her. She was kinder, sweeter, gentle. She wondered if the other girls had noticed too. Emily became extremely close with the other girls too, her and Hanna had built a bond that seemed unbreakable. Of course Ali had been kind of upset thinking that Hanna was gonna steal her thunder, but after awhile Ali had noticed Emily looked at her differently than she had looked an any of the others. So that was okay.

Ali had told Emily in the beginning that she was mean, Emily didn't believe her, but instead of saying some cheesy line like Noel and all of Ali's previous boyfriends had said, Emily only smiled lightly at the blonde.

Ali found it extremely hard to figure out what that meant. She found Emily to be like a jigsaw puzzle with a thousand pieces, every time you think you figured her out, there's always something you didn't know.

The blonde also found it extremely hard to be mean to Emily, every time she'd try she'd end up apologizing, taking her and everyone else in surprise. Hanna, aria, and Spencer loved the fact that Emily brought out a different side in Ali, a side no ones ever seen in the blonde.

"I hate these kinds of movies." Ali admitted as her and Emily sat on her bed watching the notebook, "I know, you tell me this every time." Emily said giggling as Ali huffed. "Because I do. I mean they're totally unrealistic." Ali said as Emily paused the movie and stared at the blonde, "That's kind of the point Ali." Emily said as Ali stared back at her.

"Okay but I mean come on, if it were real life and you had to choose between a rich guy and a poor guy who would you choose?" Ali asked as Emily fully turned around to face the blonde. "I would choose the one who made me most happy. Money's nothing when you're not happy." Emily said as Ali couldn't help but smile at the brunette.

"See that's the difference between me and you, I would go with the logical choice." Ali said as Emily furrowed her eyebrows, "You mean you'd choose the rich guy you're not happy with?" Emily asked as Ali shrugged.

"I'd have everything, money, shoes, a decent looking man." Ali admitted as Emily stared at her.

"Everything except happiness." Emily said as Ali stared at her, "Okay but look at it this way, what if you fell in love with Noah, then later on he fell for someone else or something, wouldn't you wish you had chosen the rich guy?" Ali asked as Emily shook her head.

"No because that's a "what if", honestly if I was in love with someone I'd do anything just to be with them and be happy, I mean yeah maybe I wouldn't have all the money and things, but at least I'd be happy." Emily admitted as Ali stared at her for awhile.

"Okay look at it this way. If you had to choose between me and a billionaire who was willing to give you the world, who would you choose?" Emily asked curiously staring at Ali.

"Well you of course!" Ali answered almost immediately as Emily couldn't help but smile, "You'd choose me over shoes, diamonds, and money?" Emily asked as Ali nodded.

"All that stuff is cool but you're my mermaid." Ali answered causing Emily's face to flush, "Now you see why Allie chose Noah?" Emily asked as Ali nodded. "Oh I see, so Noah was her Emily." She said as Emily couldn't stop blushing.

"I-I, I guess so." The brunette said as Ali smiled. "Hm, maybe I'm not as mean as I thought." Ali thought to herself as she stared at Emily.
