Alex's POV
It's been a few weeks ever since Tobin and I had that talk. I still remember that day like it was yesterday. I remember the feeling when her fingers traced my bare skin, sending sparks throughout my entire body. I remember that feeling when she pressed her soft lips against mine. It was... Magical. It was like a dream.
But since then, we've stayed best friends. It seems that we only got closer and I was happy with that. As long as I still had Tobin around I would be fine.
Yesterday we had a game against Sky Blue so luckily, Kelley was still in town. The two of us planned a dinner date while Tobin said she was having some friends over so I was relieved that she wouldn't be alone.
The doorbell rang and Tobin got up to answer it.
"Alex, Kelley is here!" Tobin says. I get up from the couch and see Kelley and a smile formed on my face as I pulled her in for a tight hug.
"I missed you Kels." I say as I pull away.
"Yeah, I've missed you both. I see that you guys got a condo together." Kelley says as she winks at me. I roll my eyes before looking back at Tobin.
"Well, I'll see you later Tobin." I say as I wrap her into a hug before Kelley and I take off.
We went to a restaurant called Cabezon that supposedly had the best seafood in Portland. Once we got seated, Kelley looked at me with serious expression on her face.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I ask as I look up from the menu.
"You got a condo with Tobin, Alex."
"Yeah, so what's the matter?" I ask.
"You like her, I know you do." Kelley says with a smirk on her face. I shake my head no and Kelley stares at me again.
"Don't deny it, Alex. You like her, just admit it."
"Fine, I like her maybe even love her." I finally say after a few minuets of silence.
"But..."
"Servando. I have him, I've committed to him. He's going to propose to me sometime soon and I have no idea what to do, you gotta help me Kels." I say.
"Okay, relax... Well, do you love Servando enough to marry him and have a future with him?" Kelley asks me.
"I like him but Tobin is... She's everything to me and I want her. I want to commit to her and have a future with her. I want to love her."
"What's stopping you, Alex? I know it's not just Servando that's stopping you from being happy with Tobin. What else is stopping you?" Kelley asks me with concern in her eyes. She grabs my hands and squeezes them.
"Remember what I told you about my freshmen year of high school? How I was the one who basically ruined Tobin's life and told her she was worthless and other stuff that I regret?" Kelley slowly nods her head and let's out a sigh.
"You don't have to tell her, just go be with her. I know you want to. Don't let the past ruin your future."
"What if she finds out Kelley? She's going to remember at one point. Then what? It's over. That's why I chose Serv over Tobin and I hate that I chose Serv but I felt that it would keep Tobin safe."
