Season/Movie/AU: Season 1
Plot: Mack Mueller is a shapeshifter for the last couple of years he has been watching a shadowhunter walking around from afar, not having the courage to introduce himself to him because of the fear of his reaction at him being a shapeshifter, Mack decides to change his appearance to a girl and meet the raven haired shadowhunter thinking maybe he will like him for being a girl, of course, Mack didn't know Alec Lightwood likes boys too.
Extra (To help you out): It explains how Mack likes Alec but he doesn't have the courage to introduce himself because he is a shapeshifter and thinks Alec will hate him so he changes into a girl thinking Alec likes girls and he probably has more chance with him but then he figures out that Alec also likes boys too and Mack or as he called himself Mackenzie realizes he made a huge mistake.
