Xyder Zephyr - POV;

"Xyder! You're back!" Alva shouted as she hugged me, "Thank God you're here."

"Where is he?" I asked her.

"Room 30 on floor 2," she answered.

The moment we had arrived in Zephyr City, I had run back to the Residential Area with Storm and Cheryl where the Zephyr exclusive hospital stood. The guards were a bit concerned about letting in Cheryl but took little heed in reguard to who I was and the reason for my rush. When I burst through the front door I found Alva, whom I had called earlier, pacing around anxiously.

I followed Alva's instructions to where my grandfather was located but rather than going right in, I paused at the door. I could tell that someone was talking to Seraphim on the other side and this was further evidenced by the wails which soon followed. The doors slammed open and Evelynn rushed out only to collide with me head on. I grabbed her to prevent her fall.

"Xyder?!" she cried out, her face mangled with tears. She buried her head in my chest and let her emotions flow freely. Caitlyn ran out too with an expression and look similar to her elder sister's.

"Brother Xy!" she sobbed hugging onto my waist. I placed a hand on both of their heads in hopes to comfort them. Although Caitlyn was Evelyn's younger sister, she was not actually related to me since she and Evie had different fathers. Nevertheless, she began to call me her brother and I saw her as a little sister myself.

Catherine, who was Evie and Caitlyn's mother, exited soon after and stared at the scene before her.

"Xyder? You've returned rather quickly," she smiled, "Look at you comforting all the girls. And is it just me or have you gotten even more muscular and handsome? I would have never thought it possible!"

"You flatter me Catherine. I almost want to blush," I told her.

"Oh, but what I say is the truth," she followed up light heartedly.

"Anyway, your grandfather is waiting. He really isn't looking too good and the chances of recovering are far from promising. You should go see how he's doing. I'm sure he's been anxiously awaiting your arrival," she stated in a serious tone.

"Yeah right. He's probably praying that I don't show up. In fact I'm just here to spite him," I retorted.

Catherine shook her head and laughed. "Contrary to what you think and what Seraphim may say, he does hold you in high reguard. He's been dying to see you ever since he was put in this place. Just go easy on him okay?" Catherine took her daughters and left Storm, Cheryl and me at my grandfather's door.

"Do you want us to stay outside?" Storm inquired.

"......................"

"If you think this is something you must do alone, then I don't mind," Cheryl said.

"No," I began, "I'd prefer if you were both with me."

The three of us entered to the sight of the old Patriarch sprawled out on a white bed and covered with silky blankets. A number of medical equipment was attached to his frail body including a blood transfusion and other intravenous liquids. Admittedly my heart felt somewhat heavy as I looked upon him in this state.

"Hey there," I greeted him. Seraphim opened his eyes slowly and glared at us.

"Yours was the last face I would have expected to see here," he murmered.

"Yeah, I share the sentiment. In fact I always thought that I would be alot happier to hear the news that you were about to kick the bucket," I scoffed.
