Chapter 78 - Dagan's Remorse
Xyder Zephyr - POV;
"I'm so glad you're okay! I was so worried!" Celes exclaimed.
"Hmph. Look at you doing stupid crap. We told you to take it easy but you had to be dumb anyway. You should have died!" Sorine growled.
"They're in love with him," Evie giggled.
"Totally in love with him," Winter snickered.
"Head over heels for him," Storm cackled.
"You guys......." I sighed.
I walked over to the boy and placing a hand on his shoulder I smiled, "It's great to have you back again in good shape Dagan. You're more than just a little late though. It's been three god damned weeks since the tournament."
"And it's good to see you're not dead, what with you storming out of the hospital the day you were warded with crushed bone," he grinned mockingly.
"Oh come on! Is no one going to let up on that?!" I groaned.
"Well, It's never too much to celebrate so..... Let's go!" Evie cheered.
"You've been rather fond of partying recently, haven't you Evelynn? What would Catherine say I wonder?" I snickered.
"Ack!" Evie exclaimed suddenly, as if struck through her heart itself, "You.... you wouldn't tell her though.... right Xy.... eheh heh heh...."
"Hmm? I wonder about that," I teased her.
"Stop troubling her Xyder. Have more respect for your older sister," Satella scolded.
"Satellaaaaaaaaa!!!" Evelynn cried out as she hid behind the girl's back and peeked over her shoulder, "Xyder's being mean to me!"
"I'd actually like to go out and grab a bite though," Dagan admitted, "I've been stuck eating hospital food for weeks."
"And was that a problem for you?" a young nurse whom overheard as she had been passing by asked.
"Of course not, Diane. I'd eat anything cooked by your beautiful hands. I'll come back to your care soon," he smiled.
"Please don't go hurting yourself spiefully Dagan," she giggled.
"Crack!"
An overhead bulb suddenly shattered, the sizzling of an electric charge evident. Two of our girls had suddenly been surrounded by a deathly aura and a shadow had been cast over their faces. The only thing I wasn't sure about was whether Sorine's angry expression or Celes' smiling face was more terrifying.

"We can't have you just paying for everything like that," Dagan remarked.
"Don't worry about it. It doesn't even dent my wallet," Nero responded, sitting down between Dagan and me.
"I just like the fact that we picked a pizza joint of all places," I muttered.
"Pizza is the ultimate dream food. You can't go wrong with it," Nero defended.
"I one hundred percent back that!" Dagan declared.
"By the way bro, mom called me yesterday crying her eyes out because you didn't want to speak to her everytime she called you in the hospital," Jacqueline stated in her spot beside her brother.
"Jacqueline! What are you saying around everyone else!" Dagan whispered to her after almost choking when he heard her statement initially.
"No, I have to say it here because otherwise you won't do anything!" Jacqueline quarrelled, "She's worried about you, you idiot! And you've been brushing her off in response! You didn't hear the pain and sorrow in her voice! I did! Can you imagine how she feels knowing that you could be hurt here? Especially after Dad!"
