118 - Bitter-Sweet Outcomes

Evelynn Zephyr - POV;

"I still don't think you should have come here Xy. You really should be resting after the battering you took this morning at the courthouse," I told my brother worriedly.

"Don't sweat it Evie. I told you, I'm perfectly fine. My healing speed is amazing in my demon form. Plus with you and Catherine helping me out with your powers on top of that, how could I not be just swell?!" he assured.

"Well.... okay. I still don't approve though," I told him.

"Come on, Evelynn. You of all people should know that Xyder is one tough cookie," Dagan told her, "Albeit a stupid and rash one who could have landed himself in jail right after being freed."

"Hey!" Xyder protested.

"Don't 'hey'! You brawled outside the frickin' court house!" Sorine snapped.

"They're right Xyder. You shouldn't have done that!" Satella chimed in.

"Alright, alright. I'm sorry!" he apologised.

"I should agree with them as well... but you know, the dude had it coming," Storm muttered.

"That's what I'm talking about!" Xyder exclaimed as the two exchanged fist bumps.

"Humph. Said like a true, immature child," Winter scoffed.

"But it's true," Storm insisted.

Our lighthearted banter was suddenly cut off by the appearance of an official of the World Heirarchy. We had gathered in the Coliseum along with the other teams of the Elemental Clans as we awaited the news of the tournament's current standings. This would determine the teams that would progress to the final match and ultimately face off for the chance of being victor. Zephyr had been guaranteed a spot as proclaimed by the First King of the World Heirarchy but we decided to show up nevertheless as a formality.

"It has been a long and difficult journey. Each and every one of you has given your hearts and minds towards this cause. Many of you have been pushed to the limits and others have even gone beyond it, all for the sake of victory. Everything you have done in the time leading up to this has all led up to this moment. The eight best-performing teams amongst you will advance to the final challenge. Three rounds of team versus team battles with no restrictions. When an entire team surrenders or is unable to continue, they will be deemed as having lost. The four winners of the first round will face each other in the second and the two winners of the second round will clash in the Grand Finals. Without futher ado, the teams who will progress are as follows:

With 97 Points, Zephyr Team X.

With 95 Points, Blaze Team Omega.

With 95 Points, Fenix Team Alpha.

With 93 Points, Astra Team Thunder.

With 91 Points, Eclipse Team Eins.

With 91 Points, Neptulus Team Orca.

With 89 Points, Atmos Team Nu.

Finally, with 88 Points, Zephyr Team Z.

Though they were given guaranteed positions due to unfair circumstance, Zephyr still managed to reach the top eight with both of their teams using the points they acquired during the first two rounds and as such, no team was removed from the top eight to facilitate them.
