Naomi Ailani - POV;

"I pray the prosecution has adequately examined all new aspects of this case?" the judge commented as the day of court commenced.

"Indeed your honour," he responded, "Further investigation has confirmed that Xyder certainly could not have killed Mr. James Hinds however we have unearthed much reason to indict him of the crimes of terrorism and more. Xyder launched an attack against the City of Fenix and he murdered a number of members of the Blaze clan whom attempted to stop him. A truly ruthless assault from a cold-hearted man bringing a horde of blood thirsty beasts that posed possible grave danger to so many innocents if they were to seep further into the city. He is a-"

"That's nonsense! What reason would Xyder have to attack an Elemental Clan's City?!" I shouted.

"How unprofessional. I wouldn't expect more of a little girl however," the prosecutor huffed.

"Both parties will refrain from screaming over each other or insulting each other!" the judge stated firmly, as she brought down her gavel.

"You asked for a motive? It's quite clear young miss attorney. Zephyr and Fenix have much bad blood between them. Only recently, news has spread of a terrible argument between Regulus Seraphim Zephyr the Third and Regulus Horus Fenix which escalated to physical violence. Xyder, as the next heir of Zephyr, surely shares this resentment."

"What? But if an argument is enough to push someone to blow up a city then surely we'd have no more cities left!" I argued.

"Silly girl. This isn't just some quarrel. Zephyr and Fenix are at a deadlock when it comes to power financially and politically. Winning ownership of the hotly contested land mass would completely turn the tides of strength amongst the world's greatest powers and allow for uncontested expansion. This fact has become common knowledge at this point. Everyone is watching to see the outcome and in a desperate move Xyder tried to sabotage Fenix and their chances of winning hrough terrorism! He has the perfect motive!" the prosecutor shot back.

"Urk! Why are you actually right, you ugly fool," I grumbled under my breath. "Then how can charges be pressed against Xyder for murdering the members of Blaze!? One look and anyone can see that their injuries are just like those of Mr. Hinds! It's obviously the same person in both cases!"

"Is this true prosecutor?" the judge questioned.

"The prosecution concedes that the marks are very similar, your honour," he told her, "however our lawyer here seems to have forgotten something important. She herself proved that Xyder couldn't have killed Hinds due to being on the outskirts of the city. Xyder can't be at two places at once."

"Well obviously," I retorted.

"Precisely. So then it must be obvious that Mr. Hinds' killer couldn't have also killed the members of Blaze. After all he too couldn't be at both places at once. You proved as much," he added.

"Shiiiiiit, I totally did prove that!" I yelped in my mind.

"Then why are the marks the same?" the judge pressed.

"I'm glad you asked, your honour. One man obviously cannot perform a massive terrorist attack alone. This is why Xyder used the aid of an army of demons. We found the corpses of at least two types of demons at the scene and it is these demons that Xyder commanded against Blaze to end their life. It is believed that the demon who killed Mr. Hinds may have actually been sent by Xyder himself and so we wish to indict Xyder on the charge of high treason once again for ordering the murder of a Heirarchy official!"

"Nooooooooooooo! Why did everything suddenly go from positive progress to a hundred times worse than where we started?!" I squealed silently.

"Hmm. These are serious charges laid once again. Ms. Ailani... if I may have a word with you," the judge murmered.
