"Wowwww, this is a really nice spread for a parent-teacher meeting." Celeste said with a coy smile.

"Not today Celeste. I just feel really bad about my last meeting with Ms. Devareaux that I decided to do something nice." I said.

Taking a bite out of a piece of mango, Celeste said "Well maybe I should start telling you about your pompous self so I can get some special treatment around here. Goodness this mango is juicy!"

"Could you stop slurping and make sure that everything is in order? Please and thank you." I said as I went to my room to get dressed.

After last week's dinner with Ms. Agnes, I decided that I was going to make sure that I treated Ms. Devareaux with the utmost respect. All week, I had been asking Preston a few non-obvious questions about his mother as far as what's her favorite color, favorite foods, etc. because I wanted to make sure that this meeting went well. I even sent her some flowers, but surprisingly she sent them back. So I know I'm not in the clear with her yet, but knowing what I know now, I want to make sure that we get on the same page.

I can only hope and pray that I don't get so caught up in her beauty that I make a damn fool of myself. I told her that I would only need an hour of her time, but I'm going to maximize all 60 minutes of this hour. Being that she was the only parent who didn't get a tour of Paisley, my plan is to show her Paisley as we talk about Preston. From our first phone conversation, I could tell that she had a wicked sense of humor, so I think a little light conversing mixed with some serious dialogue will make for a great meeting.

What I'm really focusing on; is to not offend her in any way. I only hope I can control my flirtatious nature around this unique and beautiful creature. Even though she's young, Ms. Agnes made it very clear that she is far beyond naive so I better play it cool...and safe. After probing Preston all week, I spoke to my chef and made sure that he made her a sample tasting menu of the snacks and lunches that I give the children when they come to Paisley. I also incorporated some fruits being that Preston told me that was her favorite food, and because he didn't say which fruit was her favorite, I had my chef to include as many kinds as possible.

Now the only thing I had to do was to make sure that I was put together. Even though I look good for my age, I would be a liar if I said that I didn't want to impress her. She is much younger than me, and in no way did I want to come off as a 'dirty old man' but I definitely wanted to somehow let her know that I still had it! I noticed that when she was here last week, unlike the other mothers she was not only appropriately dressed, but she was fashionable as well. The quality of that blazer she had on as well as her accessories let me know that she had a flair for clothing; something I truly admired. Even though I wasn't fond of jeans, the way those jeans were fitting on her, made me rethink that notion. I can only wonder if her anger towards me will still be evident when we meet again today. I really want us to forget about our past conversations and treat this as day one.

After last week's fiasco with Mr. Nelson, I didn't know what to expect for today's parent-teacher conference. When Ms. Agnes told me to come to her office earlier this week while dropping Preston off, I didn't know what she could've wanted. Upon arriving to her office door, she gave me the most beautiful floral arrangement I had ever seen. When I thanked her she said, "Don't thank me, thank Mr. Nelson." I rolled my eyes so hard and told her she could keep them herself.

In true Ms. Agnes fashion, she told me that I needed to change my attitude because she had spoke to Mr. Nelson and he told her about our meeting. Additionally, she told me that she explained my situation to him. Well...needless to say that didn't go over well with me at all. I told her she had no right telling that man any of my business and I practically stormed out of her office after she made me take the floral arrangement.
