Noah's POV:

It's been a week since I've been in here, a fucking week! I've already had to stake my claim by taking out the leader otherwise he would have no doubt made me his bitch. At first I was worried about that but all it took was one random punch in the nose for everyone to immediately fear me. It was something that my lawyer prepared me for, giving me tips about how to take over inside. He also gave me a list of guards who were on prisoners payroll.

This was the only way I was going to survive fifteen years in this hell hole, instead of my original ten. My stupid attempt at attacking Avery copped me another five years purely because I pissed the judge off according to Vince. This just angered me even more, I'd be 34 when I got out, to do what? Clean peoples toilets? I was finished. My football career was officially down the toilet and it was all thanks to Avery. She ruins my life and gets to live hers to the fullest, while not being held accountable for her actions.

I blinked when I heard a cracking sound, looking down I noticed I had cracked my plastic fork in half. I flicked the fork onto my tray of food as I let out a sigh before leaning back in my seat. I was in disbelief by how quickly my life turned in the last year and a half, it didn't feel that long ago when I had Avery in my arms.

There she was, wearing a black fitted skirt and a sequenced singlet. She took my breath away as she made her way through the crowded house. I kept a close eye and watched her as she gently tried to walk past people before stumbling when someone bumped her. I was about to go help her before she was steadied by her friend who wrapped her arms around her, both smiling at each other. In an instant I wanted to know her, I wanted to meet her. This girl had captured my attention.

I took one last gulp from my beer before placing it down on the table and slowly walking towards her. I almost laughed when I saw her friend's eyes widen at my presence, before gently slapping Avery's shoulder. I waited as Avery looked at her friend before turning around to face me. My heart skipped a beat the moment her hazel eyes looked into mine.

"Hi." I said, confidence evident in my voice.

"Uh-Hello." She stumbled as she responded to me.

"Avery? Right?" I asked.

She looked taken back by the fact that I knew her name. Didn't want her thinking I was some kind of stalker, so I laughed before adding, "Isaac is my best friend, your big brother."

"Ohhh!" She said as she chuckled nervously.

"Isaacs pretty awesome. Nice to meet you." She said as she raised her hand.

I looked between her eyes and her hand before raising mine to shake it gently, "Noah."

She had a slight hint of a smile on her face as she shook my hand, "I know exactly who you are."

I kept count for every pull up I did. Counting was the only way I could stay focused and not let my mind drift into my memories of Avery and me. The memories would only hurt me more than it did good, I couldn't afford to have these memories affect me now. I needed to stay focused. I needed to stay focused on the Avery she has become now, not the Avery I used to know, that Avery would only make me weaker in my mission.
