I opened my eyes as I heard the sound of machines around me, on my left an IV and a packet of blood. The only thing that reminds me that I'm no longer in the lab was that I was not being strapped down. With that, I pushed myself up, wincing as it still hurts on my waist. I slightly lifted my hospital gown, examining the heavy bandages around my waist. At least I'm all patched up now.

I flinched when the door opens due to being paranoid. I relaxed when the one who walked in is no other than Aki with a can of coffee from a vending machine. He was startled to see me awake, but a bright smile soon appeared on his face.

"Jeez, I was there this whole time and you choose to wake up when I go buy a drink. "He chuckled as he pulled the chair beside the bed and sat down.

"How long was I out? "I asked him.

"Other than too much blood loss, the doctor said that you're fine. Yet, you still slept like for two days. "

"I see. Well, at least we both got out alive. "I chuckled a bit. I was a bit surprised that he didn't join me, instead, he became very quiet.

"Aki, what's wrong? "I questioned, having a bad feeling about it.

"........ We're able to escape thanks to Mitsuru and the others. They stayed back to capture the people who attacked us. When we integrate them, none of them recalled what happened and the only one who does had committed suicide. "He said to me with a serious look on his face. He's asking for answers, answers that I don't think that I'm ready to share yet. There's a few minutes of complete awkward silence because of that.

"How can you be arguing in this last second and still said things in unison? "He asked sarcastically. Both Aki and I looked at each other before we both turned our heads to different direction like little kids, still feeling pissed at each other.

"Why do I always have to deal with fights? ......... First, you're a dumbass, Aki. "Shinji said before he smacked Aki at the back of his head.

"Why the hell did you do that for? "Aki questioned as he held onto his head.

"Who had a heated argument with the person you cared about so much that you've living off from coffee for two days?! "Shinji said before he smacked Aki again.

"You what? "I shocked to hear that, my eyes just traveled to the can of coffee he had on his hand. Aki noticed and quickly hide it, his face turned away yet I noticed the faint blushes.
