Flashback

"Come on Nagisa!" The green haired girl told the other, grabbing her wrist and leading her to the storage where all the girls told Nagisa they would help her get ready for the dance where she would be crowned queen.
Nagisa was of course excited, she always felt like the girls were distant and didn't like her, but hearing that they wanted to help her for the dance made her super happy.

When they both entered all the girls from the class were already there, only they all had a frown on their face.
"What is it?" Nagisa asked only to be shoved to the ground
She looked up and saw Kayano looking down on her
"K-Kayano?"
"Don't say my name SLUT!"
"Eh? I-I don't understand! What'd I do!?"
Rio walked up and was the first one to kick her stomach
"All the boys want to go to the dance with you! Stop stealing them from us!"
"I-I'm not!"
"Lies!" Rio slapped her
"Stop acting all high and mighty just becasue you're pretty!" Yada yelled
"I-I just want to be your friends!" Nagisa yelled
"Who would want to be friends with you!" Okuda yelled and the rest continued beating her

When they finished beating her up they walked to the door and stood there
"Let's see how they like you now" Okuda smirked as she lit everybody's crackers up.
They all smiled and tossed them at her, making sure to close and lock the door.
"AARRGGHH!!" She yelled in agony as the crackers began blowing up, burning and scratching her face

Thankfully, she was taken to the hospital when the teachers noticed she was missing.

But, she missed the dance and wasn't crowned queen, Kanzaki was

When she returned to school 1 month later her entire face was wrapped in bandages
"Stay clear! The monsters coming through!" Sugino yelled out
"Hahahahaha!" The others laughed

As Nagisa made her way to her seat she heard some of the other girls whispering to each other
"Why is she still coming here?"
"I know. Does she want us to pity her"
"She should have just died"
"At least she's the ugliest one"
"True"
Nagisa looked down and the part of the bandages that was covering her eyes got soaked up while she silently cried to herself

5 years later
Beep Beep Beep
Nagisa woke up from an alarm ringing
"Ngh..." she groaned and turned it off, getting off the bed and heading to the bathroom.
Her house was of course a big and beautiful place, but the unusual thing about it was there was not a single mirror in sight.

She walked to the bathroom and changed her bandages and got dressed in her uniform

Nagisa walked inside the class and was ignored by all students
"Ok class!" Irina walked inside
Everyone stood up and bowed
"We're going to move the desks so we could practice for the upcoming dance!"
The girls squealed in excitement. They were more than excited for the upcoming dance.
Many were even hoping to ask Akabane Karma, the new transfer student, to go with them.
Sadly for them, he chose to skip

Once all desks were moved
"Ok! Find your partners!" Irina yelled
All the boys ran to make sure they got the prettiest girl, they didn't want to be the one to pair up with Nagisa

While everyone already had a partner, Nagisa didn't
"Ok! Let's begin!" Irina clapped her hands together, until she felt someone tap her arm
"Yes?" She turned around
"..." Nagisa looked down
"Do you not have a partner?"
She nodded
"Hey! Why not go with the janitor!" A girl yelled out and the class began to laugh
"Silence!" Irina yelled and looked back at her student
She felt pity for the girl, but didn't know what she could do for her
"Well...I hate to tell you this, but if you don't have a partner I'll have to lower your grade"
"..."

Nagisa sat in the corner of the room while everyone practiced dancing.

Just then the door slid open
"Sorry I'm late" Karma walked inside holding a smirk
"Why are you late!" Irina yelled
"Well I was going to skip, but a little bird told me this was going to count as a grade"
She sighed
"Pair up with Nagisa then"
He turned around and saw Nagisa sitting alone in the corner
"Ok"
"Irina sensei! Can we switch partners!" Okuda yelled
"No!"
"Why!?"
"Yeah!!"
"I want to dance with Karma!"
"Who would want to dance with that monster!"
"He deserves better!"
"Shut Up!" Karma yelled
"We're just looking out for you Karma" Kayano replied
"Yeah, no one would want to dance with her. I mean look at her. She's hideous!" Rio said
"What's hideous is your personality" Karma told her
"K-Karma?" She was shocked from what she just heard
"You guys say I deserve better, but how are any of you better than Nagisa?"
"Wha!!"
"I would have chosen to dance with Nagisa either way, so stop trying to make decisions for me. I know how to take care of myself!" He yelled and glared at all of them, causing them to flinch

Classes were over and Karma took Nagisa out to the hallway
"You're a pretty good dancer Nagisa" he smiled at her
"....T-Thank you..."
"..." he starred at her with wide eyes
"I-Is something wrong?" She asked
"N-No! It's just, this is the first time I've heard you talk"
"I'm sorry! I won't say anything!"
"No! It's not a bad thing! It's just I've never heard you say anything since I got here 6 months ago"
"..."
"Your voice, it's cute" he said with a gentle smile on his face
"Eh?" She was taken by surprise
No one had ever complimented her, everyone she had ever met only attacked her and told her things that brought her self esteem down
"How about we hang out?" He suggested
"Yes!" She yelled out in excitement
Karma chuckled
"Let me get my bag. I'll be back!" He yelled as he ran off
Nagisa was so happy.
This would be her first time in 5 years that she would hang out with a classmate.
She felt like Karma was different
"My first real friend..." she smiled to herself
"Hey!"
She turned around, but the minute she did cold water was thrown on her, followed by garbage
"Stay in your lane!"
"Yeah! And don't even think about stealing Karma!"
"Why?..." she asked
"Want to know why?" Rio walked up to her and bent down to her ear
"Because you garbage and that's all you'll ever be"
"Stay away, we're warning-"
"Leave her alone!" Karma yelled
"K-Karma!?" All the girls yelled in shock

A/N:
* Nagisa was 12 in the flashback meaning she is 17 now.
* Isogai and maeharu don't bully Nagisa, but they don't help her either
