Nagisa pov
It was early in the morning as I was walking to school and not that many people where at school, but I had a feeling Karma would be there.

As I was walking up the hill I noticed a familiar red head up ahead.
"Karma!"
He turned around and gave me a smile
"If it isn't my favorite blueberry. What are you doing here soo early?"
"I just felt like seeing you" I smiled
For some reason after hearing my words Karma's cheeks started turning red
"Karma? Are you ok?"
"Y-Yeah, a-anyway want to walk around" he asked
"Sure"

We spent that morning walking around the forest next to the 3-E classroom.
When we got tired we sat underneath a tree and somehow ended up falling asleep.

When I woke up I noticed Karma was no longer by my side, he was infront of me.
"???"
As I stood up I saw that some of the kids from the main building where here.
"Looks like the princess is awake"
"Karma, what's going on?" I asked
"....."
"What's the great Akabane doing here so early in the morning? Shouldn't you be ditching?"
"They were probably making out" another guy said
"I mean those two are always together" he continued
"That's nasty! You two are both guys!" Another joined in
"Can't say the same about Shiota"
"Yeah, he's a girly boy"
"He's definitely the bottom"
"Stop saying that! It's disgusting!" A girl yelled
"She's right...it is nasty"
"I mean two guys? Seriously!? That's disgusting"
"Why don't you just shut up and leave" Karma glared
"You're not going to deny it?"
"You better leave unless you have a death wish"
The group just backed up a bit before turning to walk away
"...."
"...."
The silence was awkward, but I didn't want to be the first to speak...I was scared

"Nagisa..."
"Y-Yes!"
Karma turned to face me
"Ignore what they said" he said with a straight face
"Y-Yeah" I agreed even though I didn't completely understand the situation
"And"
"And?" I repeated
"....Nothing"

Weeks passed and I noticed Karma started avaoiding me
Not only that, everyday I would find notes containing death threats in my desk.
They all basically said the same thing:
Go die you slut
You homo
Gay
Kill yourself
You chose to be gay! Stop making others gay!
Fag
The world is better off without gays

I turned to look at Karma and saw him with his head down.
He was sleeping again
I smiled lightly

The next day came and I knew I would dread it.

It was an assembly

3-E went to the main building and went inside the gym.
Everyone turned to look at us...with disgust in their face

As we were getting in line I heard some people whisper
"Out of all these girls they choose a guy to f**k"
"I hear it's a disease"
"I bet Shiota made Karma gay"
"He's such a slut"
"We better be careful or he might try to turn us gay"
"Shut the hell up! Can't I go a damn day without having to hear your stupid voices!" A familiar voice yelled
I turned around and saw Karma, at the back of the line
"!!"
It was surprising that he was even here. He always chooses to skip these events.
Karma stepped out of line and walked up the the group that was talking about me
"Kar-!"
All of a sudden someone grabbed my shoulder
I turned around and saw Rio
"Leave it to him" she smiled
"Yeah, Karma's not the type to let people run their mouths" Maehara said
"Just ignore them" Kayano added
"....Ok"

We all just watched as Karma kept provoking the other students to fight him.
Before he could lift his fists there was a huge gust of wind and Karma was no longer there
"!!!"
"W-Where'd he go!?"
The other students freaked out after Karma disappeared
Everyone in our class just looked at each other, knowing who it was that took him.
"Nagisa you should go" Okuda said, implying that I go see Karma
"What about-"
"We'll handle it here" Terasaka spoke out, not bothering to look at me
I smiled
"Thank you"

Karma pov
One minute I was in the gym and the next I was outside, the breeze blowing through my hair
"What'd you do that for!?" I yelled
"Violence is not the answer to anything" the octopus said
"Yes it is!"
"Why?"
"They were trash talking Nagisa! How could I just act like it's not happening!?"
"Then why were you ignoring him this whole time?" He asked
I only looked away, not surprised that he caught on to me
"...I thought that if I stopped being by his side they would stop"
"...."
"They kept saying things about us...about him"
"Like?"
"That we were in love with each other...that it was wrong to love another boy"
"But you love him"
"I thought I was doing the right thing"
"Idiot!"
"!!!"
My eyes widened at the sudden but similar voice
I turned around and saw Nagisa
"Nagisa!?"
"Is that why you started avoiding me!?"
"...Yeah"
"You're saying you did it for me. But do I look happy!? What's wrong with being gay!?"
"Nagisa?"
"I never cared about what they said about me because it's true! I'm gay and I love you!"
"Eh?"
I was in shock at his sudden confession
"N-Nagisa, you don't need to say that for my sake"
Nagisa only looked down and a tear rolled down his cheek
"What's wrong with being gay? Is being gay wrong?!Is it that disgusting?!"
"...."
"Why can't we just love the person we like without having to worry about their gender"
"Nagisa..." I spoke out not sure what to say
"Nagisa is right" Korosenei interrupted and pat both our heads with his tenticales
"Love has never been about genders. Loving someone is a beautiful thing, and you both love each other" 
We both looked up and looked each other in the eyes
"I didn't want any harm to come to you" I spoke
"Let's not run away" Nagisa held my hand and cupped my cheek with his other
His hand was warm
"Did you mean what you said?" I asked referring to his confession
He smiled before responding
"Yeah"
I sighed in relief and brought my face closer to his, locking our lips together

When we separated we heard loud cheers
"WOAH!!"
We turned around and saw all of 3-E cheering
"About time you two got together" Terasaka grinned
"Yeah, you know how annoying it was having to keep my mouth shut!" Rio said crossing her arms
Nagisa chuckled as I hugged him closer
"Congratulations" Okuda walked up to us with a smile
I smirked and kissed Nagisa's forehead
"Thanks"

It doesn't matter what other people think.
There are people who have accepted us for who we love, and we were surrounded by them this whole time.
