I just love my family

(Piper's POV)

"Pfft Lobster?!" Larry laughed as he took a sip of his wine.
Alex had told our pork chop and Java stories and how I'd become 'her little lobster' for a full 2 months in the cartel.
He continued,
"Hey Van, imagine if I was still engaged to Piper? Do you Larry take Alex's lobster to have and to hold as your wife?" He mockingly laughed to my bully of his fiancé.
"No, but I do." Alex snapped at him and quickly removed her hand from my back and stood up,
"I'm going to get more wine." She announced and kissed the top of my head.
Unaware of what she was about to do, I defended myself.
"Yeah? Better than Bloomer. At least lobsters mate for life apparently, I'd rather be Alex's soulmate than someone whose last name sounds like a flower shop." I growled with a laugh. I had always found Cal's nickname to Larry hilarious and apparently so did Alex. She came back with the open bottle of wine and as she laughed she 'accidentally' spilled it over Larry's head just after he remarked,
"Yeah? And how'd that work out for you Piper with a last name that sounds like the pot you hold the flowers in?"
"Jesus Alex! What the fuck?!" Larry yelled and stood up, covered in red wine.
I couldn't hold my laughter fit back.
"Oh Larry I'm so sorry, a Vause is supposed to hold the Blooms not let them get covered in the liquid they consume. Well, looks like Piper's not the only lobster in the room since you're all red and all." She said incredibly sarcastically to Larry.
"Alex... I... love... you!" I said through my laughter.
Luckily my parents were in the kitchen getting desert at this point so our little spat and I guess round, I don't know, like 247 between Alex and Larry had just been won by Alex. My brothers and Neri were also laughing at Larry. The only two who didn't find this funny were Vanessa and Larry.
"Piper. Apparently you've been with Alex for a long time, how come I never got to meet her? She's great." My older brother Danny laughed so Alex smiled back at him as she high fived me.
"Just a little early Christmas present for you Pipes." She said and kissed me on the cheek. Larry was glaring at her hard now.
My parents came back with the desert and saw Larry dripping. Alex immediately spoke up,
"Bill, Carol. I am such an idiot, I spilled wine all over Larry. I don't suppose you have spare clothes he can change into?" She asked in a voice so innocent butter wouldn't melt.
Larry muttered under his breath,
"You said you were the idiot not me."
I internally laughed when my parents kindly smiled at her and said,
"Oh Alex, don't worry about it, accidents happen." Then they addressed Larry,
"Larry, go get some of Cal's clothes from his room upstairs, they should fit you."

When Larry came back down wearing one of Cal's shirts, we were all sitting with our plates of desert, waiting for him. Once he'd sat down, my Dad asked about their upcoming wedding.
"So Larry, now you're not marrying my daughter and I don't have to and didn't have to pay for her wedding to Alex, when's your upcoming wedding going to be?" He asked my ex.
"Well, actually our wedding is in 2 days, on Boxing Day." Larry said proudly yet awkwardly.
"Yeah and I'm the best man!" Cal chimed in.
Alex and I turned to stare at him with wide eyes.
Larry patted him on the back and confirmed it with a smile,
"Yep."

After desert it was late so my parents apologised and went to bed.
Alex, Cal, Neri, Danny, Vanessa, Larry and I were now in the kitchen around the island with drinks.
"Hey Bloomer thanks again man." Cal thanked him, smiling.
Alex and I couldn't help but laugh.
I took my wife by the hand and began to pull her to the door,
"Alright I think we're going to call it a night, night guys." I said with a smile and slight yawn, hugging Neri after she asked for one.
Alex couldn't help it,
"Yeah bye Bloomer." She mocked as I pulled her away and upstairs, both of us giggling like school girls,
"Sssssh Al! Come on!" I said laughing even harder and pulled her faster up to my old room.
