(Piper's POV)

Alex and I were walking down the corridor of the maternity ward of the hospital together, hand in hand, on our way out. Alex hadn't stopped staring at me with heart eyes ever since I asked my brother to name his daughter after her mom.
"Do you remember when we first met?" I asked Alex, planning on going somewhere with this.
Alex laughed.
"What do you mean do I remember?! Of fucking course I do Pipes! Why?" She incredulously asked me as she raised her eyebrows while she laughed.
I shrugged.
"No reason, I was just thinking, back then, would you ever have imagined that you'd be here with me now, contemplating a family of our own?" I asked her.
She thought about it for a while then spoke,
"Well, the Alex you first met was a drug dealer who jumped from meaningless girl to meaningless girl with the only plans for her future being to climb the ranks in the drug business, so up until the point where I met you that night, the answer was no. Then I met you and you literally turned my world upside down. It was the first and last time I've ever mentally undressed a girl dressed head to toe in Urban Outfitters, more than once I can add, where I've thought about more than sex." She confessed, smiling.
I blushed at that and she saw so chuckled, squeezed my hand then kissed my cheek.
"Do you still want a family?" I asked her hopefully.
"I do. But only with you Pipes so you better not go leaving me again." She jokes and playfully pushes me away with her shoulder as our hands stayed linked, both of us laughing.
"I've told you before that I never plan to again Al and I'm serious. Do you want a family with me?" I laughed then turned serious as I walked her to the IVF ward of the hospital, she didn't know that yet though.
"I was serious too Pipes. I do want a family with you and only you. I've wanted that for a long time now." She stopped walking, forcing me to stop with her, taking both of my hands in each of hers and smiled sincerely.
I smiled and confessed.
"Well, would you consider going for tests now to see if we could have a family?" I nervously asked her.
She blinked and opened and closed her mouth repeatedly like a goldfish so I hurriedly continued.
"If you don't want to I completely understand! When you're ready, if you're ready, we can go. I just thought while we're here and-" I started to ramble but she cut me off.
"Piper. I would love to." She beamed and shut me up by kissing me.
When she broke the kiss, I had the biggest grin on my face which she laughed at.
"Come on." She said smiling, pulling me by the hand and we continued to walk, heading for the IVF ward.

We came out an hour and a half later. My blood was taken for testing along with a whole other range of tests and the doctor told me that she'd be in contact within a couple of days. Alex and I were also given a ton of information about donors and what to expect. Alex looked so happy and it made me really happy that she was happy about this whole thing. Who would've thought that I'd turn the badass Alex Vause into a squishy mom?
The doctor had also warned us that it might not happen the first couple of tries and that it was very rare if it did so we also had to take that on board. We were sent home to basically design our child and what traits we'd like it to have.

Now that we were at home, we were on our couch with all of the information laid out in front of us. Of course a disagreement took place.
"I want our donor to be tall, blonde, athletic and have blue eyes. Basically the guy version of you Pipes." Alex said.
"Yeah but Al, I too want our donor to be tall so I guess we agree on that, but I also want them to have a passion for literature like we do, have green eyes and dark hair like you." I told her.
She sighed,
"Pipes, I want our kid to look like both of us so we actually look like we come from the same family. It won't be biologically mine don't forget."
"I know! So do I! You literally just said you wanted a guy version of me to be our donor Al!" I challenged her.
"Well you basically said you wanted the guy version of me to be our donor so I guess we're even Pipes." She retorted, raising an eyebrow and leaning back on the couch.
It was my turn to sigh.
"Okay, what about dark hair, blue eyes, tall, athletic and a love of literature?" I ask her.
She twitched the corner of her mouth up and gave the side eye in thought.
"Maybe. What about tall, blonde, green eyes, athletic, a love of literature and a business brain?" She asked.
"Uuuuggh Alex!" I groaned, flopping on the arm of the couch.
"What?! I'm trying here Pipes!" She defended.
"Can we just ask for a mixture of both?" I mumbled into the arm.
She chuckled,
"We can try but I don't think that's possible Pipes."
I looked up at her,
"Well, what if we did it at different times? One of each? I get my mini Alex and you get your mini Piper?" I asked her.
She blinked a couple of times then spoke.
"You mean, two kids?" She asked.
"Well either two kids or increased odds. You heard the doctor babe, it more often than not doesn't work the first time." I tell her.
She smiled broadly at me.
"I guess we have our solution then babe." She grinned and kissed me then got up to go make dinner.
