(Alex's POV)

It was about a week after Piper and I had our first date together and she'd agreed to be my girlfriend. Now that I was rid of Sylvie and now had the girl I'd been chasing for quite some time now, I thought it was time to show her what an Alex Vause date looked like when I wanted someone. When I wanted her.
I'd made reservations for two at one of, if not the most, expensive restaurants in Manhattan and texted Piper the time I'd be picking her up at.
It was currently 7PM and I was picking Piper up at 8PM for our reservation at 8:30PM. I was in my bedroom with four of my sexiest dresses laid out on my bed, stuck on which one to choose. Usually if I met a girl, I'd be wearing a ratty band T-Shirt, ripped black jeans and a black leather jacket since I'd be at a bar. But this time, the girl I'd met was so different and it actually scared me how different, how she was changing me, I was putting in so much effort to impress her and had only been on one sorta date to get her into bed and one real date when I'd fucking asked her to be my girlfriend. Two dates and she was my girlfriend. I mean, who am I? I don't even recognise myself anymore. It scared me but I kinda liked it. I guess feeling like this about someone doesn't come along often.
I ended up choosing my short, tight, low cut, red dress. Red was my colour, especially when I matched my outfit with my lipstick, it made my hair and eyes stand out. I put my glasses in their case to bring with me just in case and instead of wearing them, I put clear contacts in my eyes. Fahri has always told me I looked hotter without my glasses and fuck I wanted to impress my new hot girlfriend.
Heels wasn't usually my style but I wanted to look even fiercer than I usually did so opted for some 4 inch, black, shiny stilettos.
Piper's apartment was on the other side of town so about a 20 minute drive away, 10 if there was minimal traffic so I hoped for the second option since it was pushing 7:30PM now.
Dressed, I went to the bathroom to apply my eyeliner and red lipstick. When I was finished I spoke to myself in the mirror, sorta giving myself a pep talk. With a girl like Piper waiting for me, I needed one.
"Go get her Vause."

Hopping into my Porsche, I kept the roof up, not wanting my hair to be ruined. I'd put it down when I got to Piper's place, if she wanted it down. Plus, I'd learned that convertible sports cars were always a plus when you wanted to impress someone.
Thankfully, my hope came true since traffic was light and I was parked outside Piper's building within 10 minutes. I took a deep breath and went up to her apartment. Ready to wine and dine my new girlfriend.

I knocked her door but it wasn't her who answered it.
"Ah, hello again Holly." I teased her best friend who had answered Piper's door.
"Oh. You're early. She's not ready yet and it's Polly." She said surprised.
I made a fake apologetic face and sarcastically apologised,
"My bad, Polly Hobby." I teased her even more. Piper was fun to tease but this girl was even better since she took it so badly. She frowned and I continued.
"Can I come in?" I asked her, thinking to myself that it was kinda rude of her that she hadn't already offered. Nothing was scaring me away from Piper though. Not even Piper herself could get rid of me that easily. I really liked her.
"Oh uh, sure, come in." She stammered and opened the door wider, stepping aside for me to come in. I looked around the apartment, taking in where Piper lived. It was much smaller than mine but looked more lived in, which I guess with my career, was a given. There were quite a few framed photographs. One was of her with a man of similar age to her. Another was with an older man and woman who I assumed were her parents. Another, like the first photograph, contained her with a man that looked just slightly older. Finally, there was one containing a younger version of her with a younger version of Polly, both of them in graduation gowns and caps.
"That's her family and well, I guess me." Polly said from behind me. She'd obviously seen me looking. I turned to her and she continued, explaining the photographs in the order I'd lifted them.
"This one is her and her younger brother Cal, just before she moved from their family home in Connecticut to here in the city." She told me. So Piper was a Connecticut girl? No wonder she'd looked like such a bambi in that bar where we'd met.
"You can probably tell that this is her with her parents when she visited them for summer vacation. Bill and Carol. If you ever meet her parents, they can be kinda......"
I cut her off as she trailed off in thought about how to describe my girlfriend's parents,
"WASPy?" I asked, going by the look of them and the way they dressed. I know it was prejudiced of me but it was my job to read people.
"I was going to say protective but yes, WASPy is a good way to describe them." Polly continued.
I nodded. Good to know. I still wasn't backing off from Piper though. Relationships may be a new thing for me but when I liked someone this much, it took a lot to scare me, I was a fucking drug dealer for God's sake.
"This is her and Danny. The Chapman golden child. He's a doctor, Piper and Cal's older brother. I guess you could say that Piper is the rebellious middle child." She told me. Piper was the rebellious middle child huh? Excellent.
"And finally, that's her and me at our Smith graduation." She smiled but before she could put it down, Piper announced her presence and fuck, she looked stunning.
"Polly, could you zip me up? Alex will be here any minute and I wanna look- Oh! Alex! You're here already! Shit." Piper gasped, cutting herself off mid sentence when she saw me. Her little head to toe scan of me didn't go unnoticed either.
I chuckled.
"I'm sorry, I know I'm a little early, traffic was light. Let me. I promise I won't pull it down, that'll come later." I confess and offer, throwing her a wink which she blushed at.
When I got to her, she pulled her curtain of golden hair to the side to allow the zip to go up.
She was wearing the most beautiful midnight blue dress that accented her eyes and made her hair look even more golden. The dress had a sexy slit running all the way up her deliciously long legs to stop at her thigh. She was wearing heels to match and her makeup was smokey around the eyes with subtle pink gloss which sparkled in the light.
When I'd pulled the zip to the top of her dress, I lightly kissed her on the back of her neck and purred in her ear in a sultry voice,
"You look stunning."
She visibly shivered and I couldn't help the small smirk that crept across my lips.
Piper nervously cleared her throat.
"Ehem. Um yeah, Pol, don't wait up." She told her best friend as she walked us both to the door. I let her out first and when she was out of earshot, I took the opportunity to tease Polly even more.
"Yeah Holly, don't wait up, with the way she's looking tonight, you probably won't see her till morning." I told her and threw her an evil wink, closing the door behind me but not before I caught her rolling her eyes and muttering something that sounded a lot like 'supercunt'.

We got to the restaurant and they gave us a private table for two at the window, handing us our menus. I didn't need to look at the drinks menu, I knew what I was ordering for Piper and I beforehand.
"Give us a bottle of 2003 Sloan Proprietary, red." I told the waiter who had given us our menus.
"Excellent choice ma'am." He smiled and left to get our wine. Piper's eyes widened when she saw the price of it, of everything actually.
"Alex! That's $300 a bottle!" She exclaimed.
I chuckled,
"You're on an Alex Vause date now kid."
She blushed and immediately hid behind her menu. It was adorable, I liked it, so I thought I'd continue to flirt and make her more nervous if this was the reaction it got out of her. I began to rub and slide my foot up her leg and she stiffened, going redder and darting her eyes up to look at me from above her menu. I smirked but to my surprise, she mirrored my actions as she nonchalantly looked back down at her menu.
Okay, let the foreplay begin.
The waiter came back with our wine and poured a small amount into my glass for me to taste. I knew it was a good wine but tasted it and said yes anyway so he poured us both a full glass and took our order.
"Coq au vin." I told him and looked at Piper who had gone back to staring at the menu with wide eyes, looking too afraid to order anything.
"Oh uh, the lobster please." She nervously stammered. I slid my hand across the table to weave her fingers with mine in an attempt to make her less nervous. Honestly, her nervousness was making me nervous. Did she not want to be here with me?
The waiter took our menus and again said,
"Excellent choice." before smiling and walking away.
"Don't be nervous, there's no need to be, I'm your girlfriend remember?" I remind her in an attempt to calm her down and myself actually as a gleeful smile crept across my face at the reminder of who she was.
She opened her mouth in protest, looking like a fish out of water. This was too cute not to laugh at.
"Hey I'm not nervous! I'm just, I can't...." She started to protest but trailed off. I prompted her in an attempt to let her finish her sentence.
"You can't?" I asked, hoping that the rest of the sentence wasn't 'I can't be here.'
She exhaled and it looked like the weight of the world had been lifted from her shoulders.
"Okay, maybe I'm a little nervous but I can't believe I'm here. With you. I can't believe that you're my girlfriend." She confessed, blushing and smiling.
I squeezed her hand and continued to slide my foot further up her leg and back down again, smiling myself.
"Neither can I." I smile which she smiled back at.
