Chapter 50; Ice Skating

The Q & A had run smoothly until very last minute. Devyn and Kat had one, making Corey and Colby slightly pissed off and they kept claiming they knew me better or the game was rigged. The girls just laughed at them, the girls and I celebrated that night by going out for dinner, just us three.

I now stand in a very cold ice skating rink, with a massive Christmas Tree in the middle of the rink, people and Youtubers were all skating around. I wasn't a very good ice skater, I've only done it once. Wasn't excatly good then, as well.

I clasped my hands together, jumping them, trying to create warmth for my hands. I looked around and saw Corey and the others having a great time laughing and skating around. Damn, I wish I could skate. It's sad because I'm leaning on the entrance wall waiting for my savior who I don't actually know is.

I wanted to leave, this was no fun. I want something that I could be good at, like... making a YouTube video. I rolled my eyes at myself, stop being a typical YouTuber. I chew on my lower lip, watching kids who were about 7 skating better than me making me feel sorrier for myself.

That's when Colby had skated over to me with a smile on his face, holding out his hand towards me. I didn't take it. "What's wrong?" Colby asked, as he skated up close to me and took my hands.

"I can't skate that well," I admitted shyly.

"That's okay, I'll teach you." Colby offered.

"No, that's okay," I declined knowing I would already mess up.

"Paisley, I want you to have a good time with everyone else," Colby pouted at me.

"Fine," I mumble, gripping on his hands and he slowly started to skate backward making my eyes widen. "How do you that?"

"I don't know," Colby shrugged making me laugh a little. He smiled. "There's that beautiful laugh I love to hear." I rolled my eyes. "Okay, one foot in front of the other, okay? Like your slicing pizza."

"Okay?" I say, not really sure how to respond to that and I did as he told me. I looked down at my feet the entire time, knowing Colby was guiding me.

"Paisley, you gotta look up," Colby informed me, making me shake my head. "Please?" I sighed and slowly looked up, my heart pounding. I'm going to slip, I'm going to slip- there, I slipped. I mucked up the pattern that I was currently in and my feet slide from underneath me but Colby had quickly gripped onto my arms, steadying me back down.

"That's why I look down at the ground," I complain, trying to calm my heart rate as I did deep and slow breaths.

"You're fine," Colby told me and I stare into his beautiful blue eyes, sometimes I wish I had blue eyes. "See? Look, you're doing it!"

A slow smile crept up on my face. "I am!"

"Now, I'm going to let go-"

"No!" I cry out, my eyes widening. "Please, no,"

"Paisley," Colby calls my name. "I'm not going to let anything bad happen to you. I promise. Okay?"

I let those words skin into my skin. "Okay," I finally said. I then close my eyes and opened them to see Colby was no longer in front of me which made me disappointed. I felt someone grab my hand on my right, I looked and saw it was Colby. "Am I doing it?"

"Yeah, you're doing it." Colby grinned at me before kissing my forehead which I don't know how he did on these skates.

I go slowly, concentrating hard. I so do not want to fall on my ass or my face, that would just be embarrassing. I then skate over to my friends who were all in a group and I had to place a hand on Jake's shoulder to stop myself from going any further.

"Look whos here!" Jake annouced, causing me to smile as I kept my hands on his shoulder. I didn't trust myself to let go. I squeezed Colby's hand.

"Took her a while to get it, but she finally got it," Colby added in, making me sigh.

"Not everyone's an expert." I sass, rolling my eyes.

"She's never been good at ice skating." Aaron points out making everyone laugh and I didn't comment back, there was no point.

"Can we take some photos? I want to tell everyone that I can actually ice skate." I say, smiling.

"I was about to suggest that." Kat shrugged, as so we took photos.
