Well, at least for me. Mum won't even look at me. Ace won't stop starring at me, Aaron keeps giving me I'm sorry looks, Robert doesn't give two shits.
I just sink in my chair. I really want to go home. I looked at my plate, that was full. I'm not going to be able to eat this all. So, I start off with the chicken. I slowly start to chew it, honestly, it could be better. Mums the worst cook, ever.
"Oh, God, Paisley stop stuffing your face." Mum snapped, making me almost choke on my food. "You're gonna go fat if you don't watch yourself. I mean look at you, have you even gone to the gym once?"
I inhale sharply. The tension grew. I tried to hold in the tears but I could feel my lips trembling terribly, I know Mum would say something if I don't leave right now. I chuck my knife and fork on the plate. "Paisley..." Aaron warned, glancing over at chew.
I scoff. "I'm gonna leave now." I say, so much venom slipping in my voice and I got up and walked to the kitchen with my food, and placed the dinner plate harshly down on the bench.
"Paisley!" Mum snapped. "Unless you want to pay for those plates then don't slam them down like that!" I glare over at her. I walked towards the door that lead to the kitchen. "Hey, you're not done missy! Dishes are needed to be done." Slowly, I backed up and walked back over to the table, they were clearly done. "Aaron and Ace, do whatever you like sweeties."
I clenched my jaw, cleaning up the kitchen as fast as I can and by the time I was finished, everyone was gone. I let out a pathetic sob, I can't stand Mum anymore! She's so impossible to deal with!
This is why I didn't want to come. I fall into my bed once I enter my room and closed my eyes for a little bit. Peaceful, now that's what I like to hear.
After a few minutes of relaxing, trying to calm myself down, I heard a knock on the door. I sit up and saw Aaron standing there with a sorry look on his face.
"I'm sorry, Paisley," Aaron whispered. "I didn't realize Mum treated you this way."
"Yeah, well, now you know." I say, giving up. I let out a sigh and Aaron came in.
"I can't stand Mum treating you like this, Paisley." Aaron started. "So, I called up Colby. You've got a flight tomorrow afternoon to go to Kansas."
"Really?" I ask, a little too excited. "Oh, my god, thank you!" I went to hug him, wrapping my arms and around his waist and he puts his arms around me.
"Your welcome," Aaron simply said. "You might as well have a fun Christmas, right? I don't want to see you miserable on Christmas Day."
"This is literally the best Christmas present ever!" I exclaim, jumping around joyfully.
Aaron smiled. "Now there's the Paisley I like to see."
