Toni's POV
Cheryl and RJ have been gone for a while, but I see them around the corner walking back.
"Hey baby, what was that about?" I ask pulling her on my lap
"RJ was coordinating me being captain of the cheerleading squad and he needed some information," she says pecking my lips
"Why didn't I know about this?" I ask excited for her
"Because it was really up in the air. They didn't know if they wanted a freshmen in the position but RJ convinced coach,"
"Well congratulations babygirl," I smile kissing her cheek
"I need to make a call babes, I'll be back in 5 ok?"
"Call to?" I ask suspiciously
"I'm calling Sky," she says "I promise babe,"
"Ok, tell her I say hi,"
"I will,"
She kisses my cheek and leaves the restaurant.
"Thanks for doing that man, I know it means a lot to her,"
"Ya ya, no problem at all," he says "she had the credentials for it,"
"And Thank Olivia for talking to her at the game, she talks to me about that type of stuff but I think it was good for her to talk to someone else too,"
"I think Liv liked it too," he says "she had fun,"
We watch the game on his laptop for a few minutes before Cheryl comes and sits back down.
"Sky says hi," she says
"How is she?" I ask
"She's ok," she sighs "her family is taking a trip in the winter out here and they might come out to see campus,"
"That would be nice," I say
"Ya, I miss her, her parents said it helps her talking to me though,"
"That's cause you're a great big sister,"
She rolls her eyes and kisses me.
"Thank you," she says
I smile and keep watching film.
"T throw further off your front foot on your release, then if the hit comes from here you'll be protected," RJ says showing me
"So transfer my weight earlier?" I ask
"Ya kinda," he says "and if you move your hand further up the ball it'll be easier to control,"
"I can't my hand is too small,"
He gets a ball out and hands it to me.
"Show me your grip," he says
I place the ball where I throw it from.
"It's why the ball gets so fast, I throw from the back and whip my wrist,"
"And you can't move up?"
"We tried last summer and I couldn't throw at all,"
"Weird," he says
We watch the rest of the video while Cher plays with my fingers and eats.
"Babe are you bored?" I ask
She hums
"A little, it's ok though babe, you do your thing,"
"We're done now, what do you want to do?"
"It doesn't matter,"
"Well are you tired or do you want to do something?"
"Why don't we sleep and then the boys can come over for a pizza party tonight?" She suggests
"Sounds amazing,"
I peck her lips and we head to our dorms.
"Cheryl! Toni!" Someone yells
"Oh hey Brynn," Cheryl says
"Do you two want to go to the LGBTQ Rights meeting, it's at main hall in 15 minutes,"
"Oh um we were just going to nap," I say
"But LR is important!" She snaps "it lets us find people like us and helps us fight for what we believe in,"
"Maybe next time? I can barely stay awake,"
"I'll give you the information," she says "until next time,"
We nod and politely smile as we get in the elevator.
"She's giving off weird vibes," I say
"Ya I thought she was cool but the way she snapped at you was kinda creepy,"
I hum in agreement and we head up to change and lay down.
"Would you want to join the LR or whatever?" Cher asks cuddling into me
"Would you?"
"I asked first,"
"I don't think so, I'm doing enough to fight stereotypes and for our rights. I'm too tired for everything else,"
"I don't really think we'd fit in," she says
"We probably would, we're both part of the community, we're in a gay relationship," I say
"I guess," she says "I still don't want to go, I don't need that right now,"
"I don't either babe it's fine,"
"Are you Sure?"
"Absolutely," I laugh "I think being the smartest person on campus and head cheerleader and a business owner is enough for breaking stereotypes for one girl,"
"You think?" She giggles "or should I add starting qb, gang leader, smokeshow, and the media's favourite interview?"
"Youre cute," I laugh
She giggles and cuddles into my side and falls asleep.
And so do I
...
"Baby, wake up!" Cheryl say pecking my lips
She's been up- and it looks like for a while.
"Do me a favour, order the pizza and clean the bathroom?" She asks
"How long have you been awake?"
"Half an hour, the boys will be here in 10, clean yourself up while you're at it," She says
"You're Nice," I say sarcastically
"No I'm not, but that's why you love me," she winks
I laugh and she leaves.
I order the pizza, clean the bathroom and shower quickly. I go out to the living room in a towel and ask her for my jacket.
"I have no clue where your jacket is!" She snaps "the boys will be here in less than a minute!"
There's a knock at the door.
"Get changed and hurry up," she hisses
I get changed quickly and decide to blow dry my hair. I go out expecting the boys, but they aren't here yet.
"Who was at the door baby?" I ask
"Brynn, I don't even know how she knew where we are," she sighs
"What'd she need?"
"I think just a life in general," she hums "but she asked if we wanted to go with her to the LR therapy session, tonight,"
"What'd you say?"
"We have enough people psycho analyzing us and two therapists each," she laughs
I sit next to her and peck her cheek.
"I love you Cheryl Blossom,"
"I love you too Toni Topaz," She says "when we get married, what name do you want to use?"
"Its not a big deal to me either way babes," I say "I don't have a need to keep my name, but I also don't hate it,"
"See I hate my last name but it's also a good thing to have, it would protect us from a lot," she says
"We can even just hyphenate it,"
"Ya maybe," she says "when do you want to get married?"
"I'm not sure C, I don't if you want to wait until after university or if you wanna do it next summer,"
There's a knock at the door.
"We'll talk about it later," she says standing up
Man I love her.
The boys all come in and sit down.
"The pizza will be here soon, Tones was a lazy little ass and ordered it late,"
"You didn't wake me up," I counter
She pouts mockingly when there's another knock at the door.
Cher gets up and goes to the door.
"Brynn, what are you doing here?"
"LR, emergency meeting for all members, our leader wants to meet you two. You two are the most known people on the campus that are apart of this community,"
"Actually, me and Tones talked and we can't be apart of the club," Cheryl sighs "we need to focus on our attention on our mental health. She's doing enough with the media and with football and I'm doing all I can, I'm sorry, maybe next year,"
"It's your responsibility to fight,"
"Toni fought, hard and it almost cost her, her life. I can't do it right now. I'm busy,"?
"Too busy for your rights? It looks like you aren't too busy to party,"
"Please leave, I can't handle it right now," she says
I can tell she's getting upset, so I stand up and start walking over.
"Brynn, we aren't interested," I say "I'm sorry, we can't,"
"But.."
"No buts, goodbye,"
I close the door.
"Babe are you ok?" I ask
"Fine, just want her to leave us alone,"
"Me too babes,"
We go sit down, I get the pizza and we talk and hangout for a while.
Another knock at the door infuriates Cheryl.
"If this is Brynn, call my lawyer, my bail money is in the dresser, k babe?" She says standing up
She whips open the door
"K what do you want?"
She notices it's Olivia- not Brynn.
"I'm so sorry, I thought you were going to be something else,"
"No problem, RJ told me you might answer the door like that," she laughs
"Thanks for not warning me," Cheryl says "your lucky I didn't just swing,"
Everyone laughs and Cher sits back down beside me.
"I can tell you aren't ok," I whisper
"I'm fine TT, just a lot on my mind," she sighs
I hum and we have a great rest of our night
