It's homecoming, my first game and I'm so nervous.
"Lexi, go get changed," Toni says
"I know mom," I laugh
I change into my football uniform and talk with TJ and AJ
"You nervous?" TJ asks
"Ya, I've seen what mom went through,"
"You'll be fine Lex,"
"What about you two?"
"Nah," AJ says
"He is, and so am I,"
"Apparently freshmen never start anyways,"
"Mom told me I am,"
"Congrats,"
We go warmup, do film, and then go to start the game.
I'm bigger than Toni was when she played, so people don't really associate with me with her except for our last name
We're winning after the first half and I go do interviews
"So, Alexis you are Toni Topaz's daughter correct?"
"Yes,"
"So why just this year did you start playing Football?"
"I really didn't want the pressure of being her daughter or trying to live up to what everyone thinks I should be and I was playing basketball. But this year I knew Tony Jace, LJ and AJ were playing so I decided to play with them,"
We talk about the game and then I start walking back to the changeroom.
"Hey babe," cami says
"Hey Cami, hows cheering going?"
"Really good, you're making it easy,"
I laugh and kiss her
"Go win Topaz,"
"Only for you,"
She laughs, kisses my cheek and leaves to go see the cheer girls
"That your girlfriend?" A random guy asks
"Mhm,"
"Mind if I ask her out,"
"I do.. she's gay,"
He chuckles and walks away.
"Whatever,"
I go play the second half and with 4 plays left we have the ball and are winning.
"Mom am I taking knees?"
She stutters and shakes her head
"Run TJ, then two runs to Trey and Marcus,"
I nod and do the first two plays no issue but the third one someone hits me illegally.
"Don't try to be like your mom slut,"
TJ rips him off me and a small fight starts
"TJ stop," I say holding him back
"Lex.."
"TJ!"
He stops and we play the last play and I take a knee and go celebrate on the sideline
"Lex, are you okay?" My mom asks
"I'm fine mom, TJ hits me harder than that in the yard," I laugh
"Okay- if you get a headache please come home,"
"Of course,"
"Have fun, be safe,"
I nod and leave to change and shower
"You look good Lex "
"Thank you AJ," I laugh fixing his bow tie "your mother will kill you if you don't have a good tie in the pictures,"
"Don't get me started,"
"Where's LJ and TJ?" I ask
"Right there," he says pointing behind me I turn and they're both also in their "signature" colours.
They started that when they were like 6.
TJ- red obviously, like mom
AJ- always nice purple, since he says it represents royalty
LJ- blue because it brings out his eyes and it means loyalty
"TJ moms going to kill you," I laugh "fix your hair,"
"Where's your girl?" AJ asks
"I don't know, she hasn't texted me yet,"
"I'm right here," cami says coming around the corner
She's in a skin right short black dress and she looks stunning
"Cami you're going to get dress coded," LJ says
"I love freshmen, they don't dress code here," she laughs
"Well should we go in?" AJ asks
"We'll catch up, I just wanna talk to lex for a second,"
They nod and go in.
"What's up Cam?"
"First of all, Baby you look fucking hot," she says checking me out "I love those heels,"
"Thank you, you look amazing,"
"And just so you know, some random guy came up to me at the game and asked me out and was being pretty weird so if he talked to you- nothing was true,"
"Oh he came up to me first, saying he was going to ask you out," I laugh "it's alright Cam,"
"Wanna go dance?"
"I'd love to,"
She grabs my hand and we go in.
A slow song is playing so we start dancing.
"This is nice," she smiles
"It is," I smile "I wish I didn't make us wait this long to finally have a dance,"
"Hey, you had to go your own speed, it's perfectly fine with me,"
"Thanks babe,
She kisses me and I laugh
"We're going to breakfast with my dad tomorrow right?"
"Of course,"
She looks over my shoulder and laughs
"Your cousin got a dance with a cheerleader,"
"AJ,"
"Yep,"
"Great he'll be talking about that for the rest of our lives,"
She laughs and so do I
