Tonis POV
We went undefeated all the way through the tournament and now we're at the finals press conference.
"Toni over here for another picture!"
I'm holding Lexi since Cher had to go to the bathroom to change Tony.
"Lexi, look over there," I say pointing "See the cameras?"
She nods and we smile for a few more photos.
"Thanks for being so good girly," I say tickling her stomach
She laughs and puts her arms around my neck
"When do we go home?"
"3 more days sweetheart," I say kissing her cheek
I answer more questions before Cher comes over.
"Hey cher,"
"Hi babes, I can take Lexi now,"
"Thank you,"
"No problem TT, go win. Then we can celebrate tonight,"
"Will do," I laugh
She kisses my cheek and walks over to Liv and Liz
We do warmups and pep talks and the boys take the field.
"Topaz we're up- wanna run?" Reggie asks
"No throw shallow right on a Alabama 6-13,"
We get a touchdown off the play and celebrate as the clock clicks to zero for half time.
"Coach Topaz we need one player and you for interviews,"
"Okay," I sigh "Ralphy let's go,"
He nods and we start walking towards the interview areas
"Mama mama!" Lexi says running towards us
"Lexi wheres mommy? Why are you alone?" I ask picking her up
"Mommy's hurt,"
"Where is she?" I ask
She points down the hall
"In the bathwoom,"
"Ralphy go do your interview. I should have told Mantle to situation by the time you get back,"
He nods and I jog to the bathroom
"Oh my god Cheryl?"
She's passed out and bleeding on the wall. Tony's crying beside her with blood on him and I can tell she was attacked.
"Lexi What happened?" I ask
"I don't know mama I was in the bathwoom still and I got scawed,"
"Is Tony hurt?" I ask picking him up
"He was crying but mommy protected him,"
I nod and call 911.
"911 what is your emergency?"
"I'm at the Globals tournament, the final game and my wife was attacked. She's unconscious- bleeding from her mouth and nose, bruising around her neck," I cry
They talk me through what to do and Liv and Liz walk in.
"Toni? What's going... oh my god," Liv says
Cher wakes up for a second.
"Cher I'm here, you're okay the ambulance is on its way and we're gunna go to the hospital,"
"Tones, won for me," she whispers "just take the kids and win for me,"
"Cher I'm not leaving you alone,"
"We'll go with her Toni- she's right you have to finish this game," Liz says
"I love you Tones, win," she says
"I will baby, I will,"
I give my phone to Liz and pick Tony up.
Me and him are covered in blood- she must be bleeding from somewhere else
"Are you sure?" I ask the two girls
"Toni all you'll be doing is sitting in a waiting room. It's fine,"
I nod and put Lexi on my shoulders and carry Tony out to the field.
"Topaz what's going on? Why's the game on hold?" Reggie asks
"The ambulance is on its way to pick up Cher and she lost a lot of blood so they don't want any interruptions,"
"Cheryl as in your wife,"
"Yes Cheryl as in my wife," I say "Robby pass me a shirt from that bin?"
He throws it to me and I put it over Tonys bloody clothes
"Toni why are you still here?" Reggie asks
"Liv and Liz are going with her- I'm meeting her there after. It's okay Reggie,"
"You sure?"
"100%"
"Okay,"
"Boys close this game. You're so close, no distractions, foot on the gas pedal- no let down let's go," I say
"Topaz have you seen the other team's coach?" RJ asks busting in
"Haven't paid attention- Why?"
He shows me a picture from the press conference
"Why does this concern me right now RJ?"
"Look closer Topaz,"
I look and I'm confused
He does look familiar.
"There's no way," I say "RJ it's a coincidence,"
"Topaz the name on the sheet is Frankie Ellis,"
"His other identity," I sigh "it's fine, don't worry about him,"
"This isn't okay Toni,"
"Stop it RJ it's fine I promise you,"
He nods and walks away.
"Who?" Reggie mouthes
"Freddy," i whisper
"Oh shit,"
"Leave it, it's fine- let's win,"
He shrugs and Lexi starts crying

"I want Mommy, I want Mommy,"
I go out side the room and take her off my shoulder
"Hey sweetheart, Lexi calm down for mama please?" I ask
She sniffles and nods
"I want Mommy too, you're scared right baby? That scared you?"
She nods
"They were yelling and Mommy was screaming and crying and they tried to get in my area , but they left," she says crying
"Lexi look at me," I say calmly
She looks at me and nods.
"Can you be brave for Mommy? We're going to see her soon, but I promised mommy I'd win this," I say
"Is mommy going to be okay?"
"She's going to be just fine sweetie,"
"Okay,"
I hug her closer to me and kiss the side of her head.
"You'll be okay sweetheart, I promise. So is mommy,"
"May I go back on you shouldews?" She asks
"Of course babygirl," insay kissing her cheek
I lift her back on to my shoulders and re adjust Tony
A year falls down my cheek and I say a silent prayer that Cheryl will be okay.
"Are you okay Lexi?" I ask
"I'm okay mama,"
"Can I go back in the room?"
"Ya,"
I go back inside and nod at reggie.
"Coach Topaz is Lexi allowed pop?" Ralphy asks
"Ya why not," I say
"Lexi do you want root beer or sprite?" Robby asks
"Mama what's better?" She asks
"Get the sprite sweetheart,"
"May I pwease have the sprite?"
Robbie nods and hands her the small bottle.
We do some film and everything until a ref tells us we have 5 minutes until kickoff
"Guys- your run here has been absolutely amazing, I know everyone on the coaching staff and everyone in the stands are proud of you no matter what happens," I say
"And that's Toni's mom talk," Reggie jokes "keep the lead, win the game- complete the perfect season, become immortal,"
Everyone cheers and they head out to warm up.
"We got this Mantle,"
"I know we do T,"
He hands me my headset and I try and put it on
"Lexi watch out for a second girlie," I say moving it around so it's comfortable
"What is this for?" She asks
"So the boys and the other coaches can hear me,"
"Oh that's cool,"
I laugh and nod.
"Duck kiddo, duck," i laugh going through the door
"I don't hafe to duck mama. You showt,"
"I am short baby," I laugh
I go out there and we start the second half
