It's finally over.

But why is still the question.

The police found a man and a woman living in our basement- the woman none other than Cheryls cousin, but the man wasn't familiar to me.

"Tones come sit down, your pacing is worrying the kids," Cheryl says

We're in a waiting room so the police can get a lineup together.

I've never seen the man, but everyone else has.

"Sorry babe,"

She kisses my cheek and sighs

"It's okay, but can you take Mateo for me? He's getting heavy,"

"Of course, hey baby boy,"

"Mama!" He giggles

"How are you?"

"Tired,"

"Wanna have a nap?"

He nods and pouts so I stand up to bounce him and sing a lullaby.

"Is he out?" I ask Cher

"Yes, he is,"

"Mia, how are you feeling?"

"Scared," she whispers

C rubs her back and Lexi and TJ come in with a medic.

"Mia, let them look at your leg and face," Lexi says sitting next to her

The medic says her leg is fine, but her face will be banged up for a while.

"Mommy I wanna go home,"

"I know sweetie, just a few more minutes,"

"Mom can AJ and LJ come over for dinner," Tony asks

"Of course," I say "I don't know what we're having yet,"

"Thank you"

They call them in to ID the man and woman and I sit with Mateo.

"I wan MOMMY," he says "MOMMY MOMMY MOMMY,"

"I know baby, it's okay,"

"Youngest?" A lady in the hall asks

"Yes,"

"How many?"

"6,"

"My gosh! I had 3 and it was a handful- and you're so young!"

"Has our first very young and then just grew from there," I laugh

"Any move out?"

"One, and then we have a senior moving out next fall, how about you?"

"All gone, couple years now- the silence is a blessing let me tell you,"

"I bet, I don't get much,"

We talk for a few minutes until her husband comes out and she leaves.

Cher and the kids come out and we go home.

"Mama can I go out with Hudson?" Lexi asks

"Sure sweetie, but make sure if you aren't feeling well to come home," I say

"I will,"

Lexis POV

I didn't even ask Hudson if he wants to hangout, I just drive to his house and knock on the door.

He happens to answer it and smile.

"Hey princess.. shit did I forget a date??" He asks hugging me

I burst into tears and he hugs me tighter

"I- if you're busy I- I can go home," I whisper "but I- I wanna go on a walk,"

"Let's go for a walk then okay?" He says kissing the side of my head "I'm not busy,"

He yells up to his mom that he's leaving and grabs his coat.

"Want to tell me what's wrong?"

I shake my head and we walk in silence until we get to this spot on the bank of the river that we always stop at.

"They found two people living in my basement," I whisper

"They.. what?" He asks

"I'm sorry I didn't believe you when you asked. I just.."

"No baby, it's okay," he says hugging me "it's more than okay. Is everyone good at home?"

"Y-yeah, he dragged Mia down the stairs but other than that they're okay," I sniff

"Good,"

"I'm just scared Huds,"

"That's terrifying Lexi, it's okay to be scared,"

"I'm not used to being scared, I've lived in the house forever,"

He rubs my back and kisses my temple.

"Are you excited for states?" He asks

I nod and shrug

"it's against that disgusting school,"

"I know, but don't think about them okay? You're the best,"

"Thank you, whos yours against?"

"South River,"

"Oh you got them," I giggle

"Only if you're in the stands,"

"I promise,"

He smiles and kisses me.

"You know I love you so much?" I say

"I know," he says "I love you too,"

We sit in silence for a almost an hour.

"Are you a virgin?" I ask of the blue

"Uh... yeah I am. I know it's lame,"

"It's not lame, I am too," I say "oh unless you count.."

"I don't count that Lex, no one would,"

"Would you be ready for sex?"

"I think so, what about you?"

"Maybe soon? Not right away,"

"Do you think we're ready?"

"I think we love eachother and trust eachother and I think... we've been together a long time," he sighs "I don't know, just a feeling. Why?"

"Some guys get bored without sex. That's what emma says anyways, and I didn't know if you were getting bored,"

We walk back to his house

"Do you wanna come over for dinner?" I ask

"Sure, let me just tell my parents,"

I start the car and wait for him to come back.

I'm so paranoid, I thought I saw people in my rear mirror.
