Girlfriend

TJ's POV

We're going to the finals and everyone is pumped.

"Who do we play?" I ask my mom

"Probably team Spain,"

"Oh,"

"TJ.. I know I've been focused on your sister a lot this week- but you know I'm super proud of you right?"

"I know mama, it's okay- Lex has gone through a lot,"

"Winning Globals as a freshmen is a big accomplishment Tony, I'm in awe of how much you've accomplished okay? Mom and I are so proud of you,"

I hug her and she kisses my head

"With any luck, maybe you'll grow a little more," she laughs

"Not likely with your genes,"

She laughs and we go find mom.

"Great game Tony," she says hugging me

"Thanks mom,"

"She was talking to me," Mama says kissing her

"No I wasn't," Cheryl laughs "do we get to meet your girlfriend yet?"

"She's just talking to a reporter,"
I say looking over my shoulder

Charlie and I have been going out for a while, I'm going to ask her to be my girlfriend tonight.

"She's not my girlfriend though, remember?"

"Right," Cheryl nods

"Because TJ's a chicken," Lexi teases coming over

"Stop it Alexis," Toni laughs "leave him alone,"

"Give me Mateo, Huds and I are taking pictures and we need some star power," she laughs taking Mateo

She walks away and I wave Charlie over.

She's my age, a little taller than me.

"Charlie, these are my moms- Toni and Cheryl, moms this is Charlie,"

"Its nice to finally meet you," Cheryl says

"You as well," she giggles "I'm really sorry though, our Coach needs us to get back to the hotel," she says "I wish I could stay and chat, but the bus will leave without me,"

"No problem Char- big we're hanging out later right?"

"Yes, text me?"

I nod and she smiles

"I'm so sorry, I would love to talk with you guys, I just.."

"I get it Charlie, I was a cheerleader too,"

She nods and leaves to go catch the bus

"A lot of energy that one,"

"She's scared of some of the cheerleaders getting mad at her, she just moved from Colorado so she wanted to prove herself or something,"

"Cheerleading is cut throat," Cheryl says "freshmen are put through the wringer,"

"Were you?" I ask

"Oh no," she laughs "I was captain as a freshman. My brother was a hot new football player and I had money- I bought new uniforms and poof, captain,"

"Your mom got whatever she wanted in high school," Toni sighs

"I've heard," i laugh,

We get on the bus and wait for everyone.

"Dude you asking Charlie tonight?" AJ asks
