Respect

Toni's POV
"Did you sleep well?" I ask as Robby sits down with me at the counter
"Ya,"
It's 6:45 so he woke up on his own, I'm just doing lineups so I was already up.
I was also kicked out of bed by Cheryl for talking to myself.
"Help yourself to any food in there or I can make something if you give me a couple minutes,"
"Oh it's okay, do you have cereal?"
"Top of the pantry," I say
He gets his cereal and starts eating and Lexi starts crying.
"I'll be right back," I sigh
I run up the stairs and turn on her light before Cheryl wakes up
"Hey sweetheart, is it time for breakfast?" I smile picking her up
She smiles and I carry her downstairs and into her high chair
"Hi," She says to Robby
"Hey kid,"
"Baw?" She asks him
"Bug Robby doesn't wanna play with the ball," I laugh getting her breakfast "we'll play when I get home from work,"
"Mama?"
"Mommy isn't playing with you either," I laugh walking back over "because she doesn't like the ball,"
"Football?" Robby asks
"Yup,"
"Mrs. Topaz doesn't like it?"
"She wanted Lexi to be no where near football," I laugh
He finishes breakfast and get dressed.
"Good morning babygirl," I say kissing Cheryl
"Morning," She says opening her eyes
"I need to take Robby to school and I need to talk to the principal so I'll be a bit," I say
"Give me my girl," she says seeing Lexi
"Mama baw?"
"She wants to play with the ball,"
"After I have coffee, we'll play with the ball," she says kissing Lexi's head

I drive to Riverdale High and go inside while Robby goes and finds his friends.
I sit through a meeting about protocol in Hawaii and a bunch of shit I'm not going to remember.
"How was Robby last night?" Reggie asks as we leave
"He was fine," I sigh "I don't know what to do though,"
"I'll talk to him," he says
"Thank you,"
"Coach Topaz, Coach Mantle? We're having a meeting can you guys come?"
"I said we're having a meeting Monday," I say
"It's about you," he says
We're confused at this point and go in to the classroom filled with all the football players
"Coach Topaz What happened last night, why did that happen?"
"Boys I told you, it's not a big deal and it didn't bother me,"
"But coach, it bothered us! We're confused, why did he shove you and why.."
"James shut your mouth," mike hisses
"What? Why what?" Reggie asks
"Why are they making fun of you online?" James sighs
"Let me guess. They're calling me mentally ill, being homophobic and slut shaming me," I say
"How would you know that?"
"Because their coach did the same thing when we were in high school," I sigh "everyone sit down, Reggie wanna pull the film?"
He nods and I sit on a desk.
"What all do you know about my high school career,"
"Nothing. No one will tel is anything and the school blocks your name from google searches and most of the town does too,"
"Well I came into Riverdale High and so much controversy followed me. I was shot and kidnaped in my first year. I was stalked by paparazzi, targeted for scandals and on top of everything.. when I was shot I was pregnant, 3 months and I didn't know. It's all kind of intense

They're all silent
"I shut down, I was always spaced out and only talked to Cher and Reggie," I sigh "and people began saying I was mentally challenged. He slut shakes me also because of the pregnancy because I was in a relationship with Cheryl at the time. I was raped while in captivity and have no memory since they constantly drugged me. And the homophobic comments have never stopped,"
"This film is over the course of three games, you'll obviously see Toni's hair- it's long and pink, and number 14 is the other team's coach,"
"Reggie I don't wanna.." I start

I leave and stand outside the room.
Talking about it still hurts. No matter how much time passes. I still can't talk about it.
My baby starts kicking and I smile. It always seems to come around and cheer me up when I need it.

I search up the montage of the timeline of events leading up to the shooting in Italy.
TONI TOPAZ and REGINALD MANTLE lead NY to USA title- will represent the nation in Italy the words pop on the screen with the celebrations of me and reggie and then Cheryl comes and jumps on me.

They laugh at me and I keep playing the video
I exhale as the videos of me being rushed from the hotel in to the ambulance, videos of Cheryl bawling and Reggie hugging her. A video of me actually dying, and a flash of my Instagram update before and after the shooting.

We leave and I go home.
"There are my two favourite girls," I say walking into the living room.

"She's good, we played with the ball, and had a nap, and now we're watching tv," Cher says
"Did you have fun sweetheart?" I ask kissing her forehead
"Tired," She says while yawning
"You look tired," I laugh "here baby let's get you upstairs,"
I pick her up, tell cher I'll be right back.
"Baby I'll come wake you up for dinner time okay?"

"After dinner okay?"
"Okay,"
I take the baby monitor and go downstairs
"She down for her nap?" Cher asks
I nod and sit on the floor beside the couch
"Can you give me a neck massage baby?" I ask
"Of course Tones," She says "are you stressed? You feel really tight?"
"The boys had a lot of questions about who the guy who pushes me was and apparently I'm being cyber bullied by teenagers and they wanted to know why,"
"So it was a tough conversation huh?" She sighs
"A little,"
"Did you figure out what to do with Robby?" She asks
"His best friend Mike said he could stay there for a while, I told him if he contacted me he could stay over if he wanted too. He's a good kid. I think he'll be okay,"
"He was nice, and good with Lexi," she hums
I nod in agreement and close my eyes to absorb the massage.
"I love you TT, you know that right?"
"Of course I know that love, why do you ask?"
"I've been short with you lately, I haven't been myself for a while now, just feeling off,"
"You're okay though?" I ask
"More than, just been very tired and stressed,"
"Don't stress yourself babe, we're about to have two perfect kids and your perfect and.. ya,"

"I'm almost perfect, I only have one complete leg," I joke
She giggles and kisses my head
