i wake up with someone knocking on the door and ringing the doorbell constantly.

i stretch and walk over towards the door.

i open the door and Owen is there smiling at me.

"Owen! hi!" i move out the way so he can walk in.

Owen walls over and sits down on an arm chair, i sit opposite him.

"so what brings you here?" i ask. Owen hasn't been here for about four months.

he smiles at me, "So, i haven't seen you in a while, and i thought, since school is starting really soon for you, i would come over and help you get organised.
i see you've already started."
he motions to the bags of school supplies on the bench.

"oh, well, thanks for coming 'round, i do really need some help." i laugh.

"so, let's get started."

Owen explains everything about my new school. He gives me a map, and some text books, he tells me about some of the teachers there, and who to avoid, etc.

overall the school seems nice and i was kind of, kind of looking forward to it.

Owen leaves just after 6pm.

i sigh and head to the kitchen to make some dinner.
i get out some pasta and turn the stove on.
i make my meal and slowly eat it.

once i'm done i wash my dishes and head up stairs.

i sit on my piano stool and open up the top.
i replay the song i wrote yesterday.

i really liked it.

i smile and head to my window.
i watch the sun go down.

one more week...

i lay down in my bed and sleep not wanting to ever wake up again.

time skip to a day before school starts

tomorrow i'll be starting school.
yes, i am so nervous.
yes, i don't want to go.
yes, i want to die.
yes, i will die.

breathe y/n, breathe.

it was 11am and i was at the beach, sitting on the sand, looking out at the ocean.
it was really pretty.

i stand up and take a walk down the beach, feeling the grains of hot sand sink as my feet step over them.

a lot of people would say living alone at 16, and having no friends or family, would be really lonely, but it's not.

it's calming.
it's nice.
it's free.

i walk through the shallow end of the water kicking it as i go.

i hear some shouts of laughter from behind me.

it was a group of maybe, five or so boys- around my age, with surf boards, in the water splashing each other like two year olds.

i observed them closer, and then i saw him, freaking ruel.

i wanted so badly to go over and talk to him.

but i have to keep my promise.

i walk off the beach and go to a cafe that overlooks the beautiful view of the water.

i buy a smoothie and sit and listen to some music.

i spend maybe another hour at the cafe enjoying some me time, when i think it's about time for me to head home.

i grab my things and start to walk back to my house.

i really wish owen would let me have a car already.

i get disrupted from my thoughts when i hear a car speeding around the corner.

i didn't realise i was on the road until i hear the car horn go off.

i pull my earphones out and look at the car that had stopped about 7 inches from where i was standing.

the driver gets out.

"okay, okay, don't get angry at me." i begin, "you where the one doing 90, when you where meant to be doing 40-"

i stopped talking when i realised who it was, ruel, of course.

"y/n... hi... i..am so sorry, i... um-"

i interrupt him, "don't waste your breath. i get it, you where in a rush, but there's speed limits for a reason."

he smiles shyly, "yeah... well i need to go... catch you later?"

i hope not.

"uh, yeah. oh, and, tip? stop trying to run me over."

ruel laughs as he hops in his car, "i'll try." he winks again, and he's gone.

i smile like an idiot, the rest of the way home.
