he came back.

he was there when i woke up and gave me small kisses all over my face. i giggled and gripped his face with my hand.

"mornin' y/n." he closed his eyes and grinned.

i scooted over in the small bed for him to lay next to me. we kinda just looked at each other, with the comfortable silence.

i wanted to run away. run away with him and go somewhere far. somewhere no one else knew about.

but i couldn't. he had a life and i was just crippled. i'm not even sure if i'll even be able to walk again.

"hello? earth to y/n?" ruel's lying on his side resting his head on his hand, clicking his fingers in my face.

i hit them away and laugh, "yeah wot?"

he just smirked, "never mind." he dragged the word out looking around the room suspiciously.

"ruel!" i say poking him in the face.

"y/n!" he teases matching my high pitched tone.

"oi don't-"

i was cut off with him pressing his lips against mine. we pull away and i lean my forehead against his. he smiles his adorable smile and kisses me again. his lips were warm and soft. i really missed this.

suddenly i heard someone burst through the door. "Y/N! MY GIRL-"

i look over and see coco standing in the door way staring at me and ruel. her mouth drops and she puts her hands on her knees and laughs so hard.

"hi coco..." ruel says looking down as his cheeks slowly started to flush.

she walks over to us laughing to herself and leans in to give me a hug.

"i missed you!" she squeezes me softly.

"me too!"

"not as much as ruel...still making up for it it i see." she looks at me then at ruel and makes...let's say not so appropriate sounds.

"i swear to god coco i will slit-"

ruel begins before getting cut off by sylvie and ruels parents running through the door, "y/n!"

"hi!" i say as my face lights up.

sylvie runs over and hugs me tight.

"how are you?" she says with a sad look.

i take a look at everyone. everyone who felt like family to me. i smile at them.

"i'm doing better than i've ever been."

they all smile and hug me at the same time.

"i can't breath!" ruel yells.

we all laugh at his comment and coco pushes ruel off the bed and lays next to me.

"coco!" ruel says offended.

"shut up." she turns to me, "so...is he nice? is he being a good boyfriend?"

"um..."

i found it weird, especially since practically his whole family was there. "yeah." i look at ruel laying on the floor, "yeah he's alright."

"alright?!" ruel gasps, even more offended than before. "wow y/n!"

he couldn't keep a straight face and laughs. we all do. and i look at him. i look at him like he was the moon. the one who made it light when all i saw was darkness. i look at ruel. and he looks back.

*ruels pov*

more days past and each day felt like a blessing. i would visit her everyday i could and we'd talk and do whatever for hours. my family also came a few times. i was glad they did. they reminded her that i wasn't the only one who cared.

i was always there. always there holding her hand and making up for the days that i wasn't there. when i should have.

i saw her walk. which i was so proud of. she cried and told me how she worried she would never walk again. but i always knew. she was so strong and i knew she had it in her.

it was a friday night, eight o'clock. visiting hours closed soon but i did not want to leave. we were having one of the best days.

"you're so hot." y/n giggles.

i laugh and give her a questioning look.

"never mind." she blushes.

"you gotta stop doing that."

"what?"

"saying things that make me want to kiss you."

she smiles and blushes harder.

"and you gotta stop making excuses for me to kiss you."

before i could answer her lips press against mine and butterflies fill my heart.

god i love her.
