*I'm just going to add in here that Amelia, Oscar and Holly aren't related to any pureblood families or anything like that. Also, a little later in the story there will be scenes and mention of self harm and a violent relationship so if you aren't comfortable with reading that I'm sorry and I'll leave it up to you whether you decide to continue reading this book or not I just thought it would be better if I put it in at the start of the book. Sitting in the boat with Holly by my side I couldn't help but think about how this year would turn out

"You alright?" Holly asked laughing as I smiled at her

"Yeah I'm good, just nervous, you?" I asked as the boat shook slightly as another two girls sat opposite us

"Same" she laughed as she turned to the two

"Hi!" She greeted enthusiastically as I laughed at my sisters antics, always trying to make people feel welcome

"Hello, I'm Hermione Granger, and you are?"

"Holly Black, this is Amelia, my sister. It's nice to meet you" she smiled as she introduced me as I sent the bushy haired girl a smile

"What's your name?"

"Hannah Abbot" the girl smiled shyly as I shook both their hands

"Amelia" I smiled as she looked over my hair

"You both have such nice hair" she said as I smiled

"Thank you, your two's are so nice as well" Holly smiled while Hermione turned between us as the boat started to move

"Are you two twins?" She asked with furrowed brows as we nodded

"From a distance you look the same but close up the main difference is your eyes"

"I have my mother's, Amelia has our dads" Holly smiled, almost bouncing in her seat as I laughed

"So what's your blood status?" Hannah asked somewhat quietly as all eyes turned to her

"What's blood status?" Hermione asked confused as she looked between us all

"It's all based on whether your parents are magical or not, if you have both magical parents and they come from a long line of witches and wizards then you're a pureblood. Most pureblood families boast about their blood status and think that they're superior to others, but families like the Weasley's are pureblood but abolish blood status. If your parents are both magical, one can be muggle born and the other can be either half-blood or pureblood. That would make you a half-blood. But you can have one magical and one non magical parent and still be half-blood. If you parents are both non magical, or muggle as we call them that makes you a muggleborn, but your blood status doesn't affect your ability" I explained, adding the last part at the look on Hermione's face as a look of relief washed over her

"Oh thank god, in that case I'm muggleborn, my parents are dentists"

"Oh my god.... remember that time I bit a dentist?" Holly asked quietly as I looked at her and nodded

"I don't know who screamed louder: you, mum or that poor dentist. Anyway, we're half-blood" I said as Holly nodded and Hannah agreed as the boats stopped and we climbed out unsteadily

"I am a half-blood but I'm part of a pureblood family" she explained to us quietly with a small smile as I nodded in understanding as I smiled back at her as Hermione and Holly stayed quiet trying to figure it out as I laughed lightly
