56 ~ The Surgery

I hear muffled voices before feeling Dom rubbing my head softly. "Wakey wakey." Dom quietly sings in my ear.

I quickly open my eyes noticing where we are. I groan as I snuggle back against Dom. "Fucks sake." I mumble to myself.

"Everything's gonna be okay." Dom tries to reassure me as he squeezes me. "I dreamt that it was over and we were out of here." I pull away from him.

"Oh, I promise it'll all be over soon," he helps me sit up slowly. "the nurse will be here in five minutes.".

"I'm scared," I admit to him. "what if something goes wrong?" I hold onto his arm. "It's only a minor surgery darlin' everything's going to be okay. It's nothing to worry about." He calms me down and as if on cue, the nurse from earlier peeps around the curtain.

She hesitates before walking to the end of the bed. "Are you ready y/n?" She gently asks as I weakly nod.

She goes over my information with me and explains the procedure. "You'll be good to go home two hours after as long as everything goes to plan. I'll take you down now." She offers a smile, I don't smile back.

Tom and the nurse help me into a wheelchair, the nurse begins wheeling me as Tom helps Dom limp beside me.

We take a few turns before coming to a lift, we go down one floor and take a few more turns. "I'm going to have to ask you two to wait here whilst the operation takes place.".

I turn to Dom with tears in my eyes. "Baby I love you so much. It'll all be over soon. I'll see you in a bit yeah?" Dom says holding onto my hands, I can see the tears building up in his eyes.

"How long will it be until I can see her again?" Dom asks the nurse. "About 40 minutes I'd say." She tells us.

"I love you Dom." I wrap my arm tightly around him, he blows a kiss as I get wheeled out of his sight.

Dom's POV

I blow y/n a gentle kiss before she's gone from my view.

I hop to some chairs just outside the door to the corridor and sit down. Tom sits besides me as I lean forward burying my head into my hands, Tom with his hand on my back.

Tears keep streaming down my face, I quickly try to wipe each of them away but they come faster and faster.

"Oh Dom. Come here." Tom says as I turn around and he pulls me into a tight hug.

"I just feel so guilty, and there's nothing I can do about it." I cry to Tom. "Don't say that, you're supporting her so much. She'd be lost without you. You've done so much to help her already.".

I eventually pull away from Tom and lean back against the chair. "I don't know man. It's just - I - oh I don't know. I just love her so much and I don't think I'll ever be able to show her just how much I love her.".

I sit thinking for a few minutes. "Wait I have an idea, pass me my phone." I perk up slightly as Tom hands me my phone, I quickly unlock it and call Adam.
