Chapter XIII: Betrayal of Friendship

[Adrien's POV]

Preston and I spent the entire weekend at home, cuddling and watching movies. It was the most comfortable I have ever been, and to be honest, I never felt as happy as I did then. Cuddling with Preston on his bed, my head on his chest and his arms around me as we watched movies on his tv, was the best feeling. Kissing and touching him just made things better. I was giddy just thinking about it.

Preston was not only my best friend but my boyfriend now as well. I couldn't help but smile.

But I was also nervous. It was Monday morning, and I was getting dressed while Preston took a shower. How would people react when they see us walk in hand in hand? More so, how was Marci going to react? Was she going to be mad at me or would she be okay with it? I was worried she would be upset. She was one of my friends and I didn't want to upset her.

I sighed and shook my head. When I looked in the mirror this morning the hickey Preston left in my neck from a couple of days before was still there but faded slightly, so I had to cover it up with concealer.  Now, I pulled on a pair of distressed mom jeans, rolling up the ankles. I grabbed an oversized grey knit sweater and threw it on. Then, I ran my fingers threw my hair and spritzed on vanilla-scented body mist.

By the time I was done getting ready, Preston wandered back into the bedroom. My lips parted slightly, standing there like a fool because I couldn't help but blatantly stare at him. He was wearing a short-sleeved loose fit button up with embroidered patterns on it, tucked into a pair of jeans. I could smell his cologne from where I stood. His hair was still damp and slicked from his face, but holy hell did he look hot. I couldn't stop staring at him.

He looked really good.

"Something on my face?" I blinked out of my daze and met Preston's eyes. He was smirking at me, and I couldn't help the way my cheeks heated up. I scoffed lightly, shaking my head.

"No...you just, Uhm...look good," I murmured. Preston chuckled softly. He wandered over, cupping my face softly as he pressed a kiss to my forehead. Then, he tilted my head back to kiss my lips. I smiled at that.

"Yea? Well...you look good too. Beautiful," He murmured. I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him back down to kiss him once again. Preston laughed against my lips and kissed me back, coaxing my mouth open gently as he dipped his tongue in for a quick little make out.

And when we pulled back for air, I gasped as Preston dipped his head down to my neck, licking a long line up the side of my neck before kissing me there. I laughed and cringed, pushing against his shoulders to pull him off me.

"That was gross," I laughed, rubbing my neck with my sleeve. Preston smirked teasingly at me, sticking his tongue out.

"Yea, well...you smell like vanilla," He smirked teasingly, "and taste like it too."

I rolled my eyes at him, patted his chest and pointed to his bag on the floor, "Yea well, less licking and more moving. We gotta get to school."

"You're no funnnnnn," Preston whined. He planted a quick kiss on my cheek before he grabbed his bag off the floor by the bed, and shrugged it over his shoulder. I smiled crookedly and grabbed my own bag.

"I'm fun in more ways than one," I winked. Preston's eyes glinted with amusement, a grin on his face as I walked to the bedroom door.

"Indeed...you are."

We made our way downstairs. After saying goodbye to our parents, we grabbed our shoes and coats and headed out. When we started walking along the sidewalk, Preston took my hand in his, intertwining our fingers together.
