Single Working Women's Day

Ding dong

Caleb opens the front door, and Dakota and Georgia prance inside. The living room is coated in colorful balloons, with golden streamers hanging from the ceiling. Virginia trots in from the kitchen with a tray of empty champagne glasses, and Carolina follows with a bottle of sparkling juice. Mrs. Kessler shuffles her younger children into the room, Cecilia cuddled in her arms. Danny sits on the floor, fiddling with the TV until a countdown timer pops up on the screen.

This is so exciting!

I can't believe this is actually happening.

Better believe it, sweetheart.

I might actually become famous. I might actually become famous.

That's a bit of a stretch.

Hey, don't ruin her optimism. That took months to build up.

No more stressful workdays. No more recording headaches. No more awful blisters. No more sleepless nights.

You still have a buttload of music videos to film, so no breaks yet.

Gosh, someone's a little daisy today.

Okay, guys, now is not the time.

Wow, you sound like a professional mom already.

I get to deal with these two babies every day.

Aren't you lucky?

So lucky.

I'm not a baby.

We never said you were—

I'm an adolescent.

You sound like an 80-year-old.

Shut up, Danny!

Stop it, you two.

Cecilia kicks his shin when her mom isn't looking.

Ow! Aunt, Celia kicked me!

You deserved it.

Hey!

With the Kessler kids bickering in the background, Carolina settles down on the couch next to her three sisters. Dakota pulls her phone out, ready to catch the even on camera, and Georgia fiddles with a party popper. Virginia, however, is spaced out with a melancholy look on her face.

What's wrong?

Nothing.

Terrible lying runs in the family, y'know.
