Chapter 56

Later that night, Diamond began to become a little anxious. She was worried about how Brian could show up at any moment.

Kendrick came through the door. Diamond gave him the sizes that she and Ayanna wore and he brought them clothes.

"You sure did take a while", Diamond said. "Not that I care what you were doing, I'm just saying"

Kendrick nods as he put the bags down. "Went by Verizon", he said.

"Something wrong with your phone?", Diamond asked.

"Nah I got you one", he said "noticed you didn't have one with you"

"You didn't have to", she said.

"Yes I did", he replied. "I also got some take out for us to eat. I'll get it out the car"

Diamond nods.

Kendrick walks back outside.

"Mommy?", Ayanna said.

"Yes?", Diamond relied.

"Are we staying here now?", she asked.

"...for a little while yes", Diamond said.

"But I wanna see daddy", she cried.

Kendrick walks in.

"You can't! You can't see daddy okay?", Diamond shouted.

Ayanna began to pout as she slowly began to cry

Diamond sighed. "I'm sorry Ayanna. I didn't mean to yell at you baby", she said as she hugged her.

Ayanna was still crying.

"I'll put this stuff in the room", he said as she walked out of the living room.

Diamond stopped hugging Ayanna.

Ayanna ran to what used to be Javontae's room and shut the door.

Diamond looked down.

Kendrick walks back in the living room and sees Diamond alone.

Diamond looks up and sees him and stands up. "Sorry about that", she said.

"It's okay", Kendrick said.

"...when are leaving?", Diamond asked.

"You guys can go ahead up there tomorrow. I have to move things out of here first. It's already furniture at the new house", he said.

Diamond nods. "Thank you", she said. "I appreciate this so much"

"Of course", he said.

"I'm going to go talk to Ayanna", Diamond said as she walked away.

"Okay", he said. "I'm going to start eating"

Diamond nods and walks into the room that Ayanna is in and here's Ayanna's name on the TV. Diamond looks up and makes a face because Brian put in a missing person report for Ayanna and Diamond. Diamond quickly turned off the TV and Ayanna looks at her.

"Mommy? Why am I on TV?", Ayanna asked.

"Because you did something good", Diamond said. "Come on let's eat"

"No", she said.

"Ayanna! Let's eat now", diamond demanded.

"No", Ayanna repeated.

"Okay fine. When you're ready to eat come in the kitchen", Diamond said. "Other than that you stay right here and play with your toys"

Ayanna folded her arms and sat there.
