Acceptance

(Y/n) sat quietly in her chair. Her (e/c) eyes staring at her blonde friend. He takes a deep breath before continuing, "Remember when we spoke about the Devil King and how they play the role of mediating between Satan and demons?"

"Yeah, what about them?" she questions curiously. She had never really paid attention to who that could be or where they were.

"Isn't it weird that they haven't appeared before you?" he asks her and she raises an eyebrow at him, "Think about it. You're the daughter of the God we worship. They should have at least sent you a message or something like that."

"Why would they do that? Maybe they're just busy?" she asks him not really understanding the situation they were in.

"(Y/n), think about it. You are the daughter of Satan and the Devil King is the mediator between Satan and regular demons. You should know who they are" he suggests and she ponders over his words.

He was right about what he was saying. The Devil King should have appeared to her a long time ago or at least when she appeared in Hell. She wasn't sure why they would stay hidden from her. (Y/n) furrows her eyebrows.

Scratching sounds come from the doorway. (Y/n) stands from her chair to open the door. (C/n) strolls into the room and she hops up onto Miles's lap. He ruffles her black and white fur, "What are you both talking about?"

"The Devil King" (Y/n) answers after closing the door behind her.

(C/n)'s green eyes shine in delight at the conversation. She gives them a toothy grin, "Why would you talk about her?"

"Her? You know who it is?" Miles asks as he gazes down at the cat on his lap.

"Of course I do," (c/n) scoffs.

"Then who is it? Do we know her? Is it Ava?" Miles further questions causing (c/n) to roll her feline eyes.

"Why would it be Ava? I'm not sure she's even a demon" (c/n) states. Miles and (Y/n) make eye contact not sure of what to do with the information just given to them. (Y/n) sits down back in her chair, placing a hand on the desk for support.

"Ava isn't a demon?" (Y/n) asks, her heartbeat increasing with every passing second.

(C/n) glances up at Miles and then glances at the girl sitting in front of her, "I thought you both knew?"

"No, this is new information," Miles says, his black eyes on the cat.

"Well, I'm not sure if she really is a demon or not but she smells weird" (c/n) comments. Miles and (Y/n) share a questioning look before looking down at (c/n) again, "Not weird as in she smells bad but she smells weird as if she was something else."

"Every creature has a peculiar smell to them. Demons, for example, smell metallic and she doesn't smell like that," the feline continues to theorize, "In fact, I can't even pinpoint a specific smell to the point that if she suddenly appears, I wouldn't be able to sense her. It's as if she's everything, but nothing."

"Now that you mention it, she does smell different. I never cared about it as a child because I didn't think too much of it, but she did have a different smell than us" Miles says with scrunched up eyebrows.
