A/n I just saw a tom Riddle edit and I may or may not be writing a tom Riddle ff next while I write a Remus or Sirius one. And it's gonna be accurate to tom like he's a Dick. k bye sorry for this chapter. Not really.

The music inside stopped once the room filled up, McGonagall began her announcements. The time for Madeline and Lily to walk down grew nearer and nearer. There was just one girl left in front of Madeline, Lily being the last one behind her.

Madeline peered over the shoulder of the seventh year Hufflepuff in front of her to look for her date. Whom she couldn't find. She reached back to grab Lily, not looking back.

"What?" She asked grabbing her swinging arm.

"Do you see Regulus anywhere? Am I just blind? Please tell me I'm blind."

Lily poked her head out over Madelines. "You have the best eye sight in your family, unlike James you don't need glasses, I don't see him either." She went back to her spot.

Madeline sighed then leaned up against the wall.
"You've got to be fucking kidding me."

"I'm so sorry, M."

"Yeah, well, this is going to be humiliating."

"Madeline Potter, escorted by Regulus Black."

"Here goes nothing." She said to Lily before putting on a smile. She grabbed the rail and made her way down the stairs. Only James was left down there, he and Madeline shared an apologetic look, well he did, she just shrugged her shoulders.

"Where is he?" McGonagall whispered to James.

"No idea." He said.

As Madeline was nearing the final steps she looked around and he was still nowhere in sight. She looked down at the ground. Her stomach started to turn because of the nerves. She felt humiliated in front of everyone.

Just as she picked her head up, Sirius rushed to the bottom step, he held his hand out with a smile on his face. She let out a sigh of relief when she saw him. She placed her hand on top of his, flashed him a smile, and the two walked in the hall together.

"Thank you." She whispered as they took their place.

"No need to thank me. It's a good thing I know the dance."

"Very good thing. I can't believe him."

"Yeah, sorry about that. I'd like to say he probably has a perfect excuse but we both know that's not the case."

By now Lily and James entered and the music was about to begin.

Dumbledore pointed his wand at the big gold record player and the music began.

Madeline put her left hand behind her back and her right hand up, Sirius had opposite hands. Their hands hovered an inch away from each other. They went in a circle, stepped back in to their starting place, switched hands then went the other way. Keeping eye contact the whole time.

They once again did a circle but with both hands one way, then the next. Just then, all of her worries disappeared. The nervous butterflies were gone. She didn't even notice the crowded room anymore. Yeah she plays quidditch in front of all these student but this was different for her.

Madelines favorite part was when they lift the girls into the air, their fingertips on the guys shoulders because they lift them so high. She looked down at Sirius and chuckled remembering the time he acted like he would drop her which ended up in him actually dropping her during practice a week ago.

Moments before the dance ended Madeline looked across the hall and saw Regulus who was most likely dragged in by his cousin Narcissa who was standing next to him. When the music changed the rest of the students finally joined the dance floor, as well as most professors.
