"Hah, this is getting kind of tiresome..." I sighed as I continued reading through Desmond's notes on new spells.

It's been about two months since the whole Drake/festival fiasco. Since then, I've been working on finding Aarc and trying to get closer to Emilia. So far, all I've gotten were useless lackeys and just a big wild goose chase.

Since Aarc was known as the Crime Lord, that meant he had a criminal organization that he was running. After a bit of digging, I was able to get some info on some of his hideouts.

I'd like to inform you guys that this bastard has a bunch of secret hideouts. And all of them were for multiple purposes. Drugs, weapons, relics...even slaves.

That's a Crime Boss for you. To be honest, although I didn't really care about any of it, but the slaves were a bit much...

Anyway, I didn't want Aarc catching on to me, so he wasn't the only crime lord I was after. Thanks to the Guild-master, I was able to get some info on other crime bosses and decided to deal with them as well.

With other criminal mastermind's getting taken down, Aarc might not be so suspicious. Even if he did, I'd figure something else out to deal with them. Until then, this was my compromise.

Sadly, I haven't gotten far in terms of progress. From what I've gathered, none of Aarc's lackeys knew about his locations, or at least they did, but I was either too late to find him or they were lied to. Something tells me it was the latter.

Well, I didn't expect this to be easy, but I didn't think this bastard would go through such lengths to stay hidden. That's definitely a crime boss for you.

Still, if I cause a bit of a ruckus, he'll have to act sooner or later. I guess I should just play the waiting game.

I just wish I knew why Aarc was even with Emilia in the first place. What kind of goal do they have to do all of this?

Man, this is such a pain in the ass. I would have already found these guys if they weren't using Elder Magic to hide themselves. Not even Amy can find them so that just makes this even more annoying.

"Dammit..." I grumbled.

{Take it easy, Damien. Fretting over things will only agitate you more, you know?}

[Yeah...you're right.] I heeded Alpha's advice and tried to take my mind off of Aarc and the rest of those bastards.

So, I've mostly been working in Desmond's office. After going through more of his documents I discovered some more interesting skills/spells he tried to make.

One of them was called [Diagnose]. This particular skill was kind of like [Appraisal] since it allows me to see people's conditions. As the name suggests, I'm able to see what is exactly wrong with a person.

I can see if they're sick, injured, or even going through some kind of life-threatening condition. It's something that the doctors from my old world would love to get their hands on. With this, I can see exactly what was happening to somebody and help them out.

It also worked on magic related stuff too, like curses or mind-control. This thing was extremely op in terms of efficiency.

When I first tried it out, I needed some test subjects to see what exactly it can show me and what it can't. So, I decided to go looking for some, which is why I thought the hospital was the best place to start.

And I was definitely right. Using [Diagnose], I was able to see patients with different conditions or ailments. I was satisfied that I could get good feedback like that from the skill.
