It's been now a week or so after the Disaster that happened during the Festival of the Gods. A few hundred miles away from Bruemore City, two familiar figures were walking through a forest, heading back to the Helsing Kingdom.

"Are you sure he's going to keep his promise?" Haga asked, concern clear in her voice.

"Not like we have much a choice," Drake stated. "He said he'll meet up with us after the whole ordeal was done, we just have to be patient, I guess."

It's been a full week since Drake and Haga's stunt in Bruemore City, but they haven't gotten word back from their client, Aarc. They were suppose to met up with him after the Festival was over, but he hasn't made any attempts to contact them.

Then...

"I see you two are still in one piece," A voice ranged out in the forest.

Drake and Haga were on guard now, waiting for the voice to show themselves. Soon, a little bird appeared before them on a tree branch, though it didn't look all that okay. Its feather and flesh were falling off, revealing some of its bones.

It appeared to be a ghoul bird. A type of familiar highly used by necromancers. However, this was strange due to the fact that Aarc wasn't a necromancer. He couldn't even use magic, so how is he talking through a ghoul bird?

"Aarc...?" Drake asked, confused by what he was seeing.

"In the flesh. Well, not exactly, but yes, it's me. I'm talking to you through a familiar I borrowed from a friend of mine."

"I see..."

"Anyway, that was a nice show you put on. You really got on the Champion's nerves."

"You were watching?" Drake asked, somewhat surprised by this. He didn't expect Aarc, to be there.

"Yes, I was. From a safe distance anyway. This little birdie here was really helpful, after all." So Aarc used the Ghoul Bird as his eyes and ears on the festival, huh.

This made Drake look like some entertainment for Aarc to watch on his couch at home. While Drake was a little angry by this, he sighed in defeat, knowing that he couldn't really do much about it.

"Well, I did what you asked and got the authorities on me. I'm pretty sure the King of Thurmore got word of me to the other countries as well. I'm likely going to have to be in hiding for a little while."

"I know, but you did your part. Those fools will be on your tail for a little while, so thanks for that."

"It's not like I had much of a choice. If I didn't, I'd be dead thanks to that artifact you gave me, dammit."

"Oh, come now, you're still angry about that? I thought we were passed it."

"We'll be past it once it's out of my possession and sight," Drake then pulled out the relic that Aarc burdened him with and handed it to the bird.

"You sure you don't want it?" Aarc teased. "Like I said before that little artifact can hide you from even the gods. With that kind of power, your name would go down in history."

"My name's already down in history as the Terrorist of the Festival of the Gods. I got enough on my plate, so I'll pass." Drake continued to point the relic at the familiar.

"Very well," Aarc sighed in defeat. "A deal's a deal."

The familiar then flew towards Drake and landed on his arm. It then pecked at the relic, to which it glowed slightly before shattering instantly.

"...You broke it?" Drake asked, bewildered. "I thought this thing was valuable to you?"

"It was merely a tool that served its purpose. Besides, breaking it was the only way for you to escape its little curse."
